I have had an under active thyroid for many years, I’ve recently learns about T4 and T3 tests. All mine have come back as “normal”. I have read about amino acids which can help you, I eat healthy, exercise 3 times a week and I’m no spring chicken. I never loose weight and when attending medial appointments the Doctors take one look at me and say it’s life style, loose weight eat healthy.
Please can anyone shed light on whether these supplements help. Thank you

I don't know anything about the supplements you mention, but I do know quite a lot about doctors! And I know they know nothing about nutrition, thyroid or controlling weight. Yet they think they know it all!
The weight you put on when hypo is rarely fat, so life-style has nothing to do with it. It's usually water-weight, and no diet or exercise regime is going to have any effect on it.
Do you know the exect numbers for your blood tests; results and ranges? Because 'normal' is meaningless. When a doctor says 'normal', all he means is 'somewhere within the range'. But that's not good enough. It's where within the range that the result falls that counts. The ranges are so wide they cannot be 'normal all the way through. So, if you have the numbers, post them here and let's have a look.
And don't take things doctors say about weight personnally. They don't know any better!
