Blood result back after 7wks off thyroid medication 😣

Hi everyone ❤️

So after a monumental mix up in my surgery, AGAIN!! it appears I did have thyroid bloods taken on April 8th, 🤦 I recived a message from the surgery saying I had an appointment booked for 1st of may for bloods🤔 I rang asking why as I'd just had them done on April 8th, i was told because it's to soon and those bloods on April 8th were disregarded (destroyed) receptionists words.

So today I go in for the printout of other bloods that were done along side the thyroid ones (destroyed) bloods... And what do i see... Full thyroid panel done 8th April 🤦 you just can't make this 💩 up.

So here they are... No thyroid hormone since Jan 31st (full thyroidectomy 2019)

TSH.....( 69.47) .....RANGE... 0.30....4.50) repeated to early.... God knows why they put this, my last test was Nov 2023🤦

T3....(2.2) ......RANGE.. 3.10...6.80)

T4...(4.3) ....RANGE.. 11.00...22.00

Folate... (2.5.ug/L) ....range... >2.50 ug/L.... Satisfactory

Ferritin..( 71 ug/L) ....range... 23.00...400.00 ug/L..... Satisfactory

B12... (363 ng/L) .....range... 197.00...771.00ng/L.... Satisfactory

Cortisol... (524nmo/L) ...range... > 133.00nmo/L....... Satisfactory

Cortisol range... 6am..10am 133....537 nmol/L

The above thyroid results can now confirm the new growth of thyroid tissue is not producing any thyroid hormones 👍 so I can start on the vencamil wait 7wks (if I can stomach them🙏) then get re-bloods done.

Jeezzzz... 😔😔 this as been a stressful time for me, I see the endocrinologist in June I'm crossing everything that this thyroid medication works🤞 but if not... I will need quick answers as to what they are going to do, because I'm not going through this again 😡😡😡

Thanks to all members who have helped me❤️

How have you felt without hormone replacement all this time? Any different?

Just what I would call fatigued, bit more tied, but no more gastric issues, no metalic taste in mouth, no headaches, no body pain, no feeling sick, I'm dreading the new thyroid hormone doing the same, I'll know within 4/5 days if it's effecting my stomach and bowle, it's quite strange but I feel better off it gastric wise ect.But a TSH level of 69.47 can't be good🤷

And my T3, T4 can't be good for me at those levels especially the T3.. 🤷

You must feel absolutely horrendous. If coming off thyroid treatment was something ordered by an endocrinologist I think they have put you at risk of developing myxedema coma.

I must admit though, I don't know how quickly such a condition could kick in after your thyroid hormones were stopped.

And whoever lied and said your tests were destroyed so that nobody acted on the results really needs to be disciplined, because they have, in effect, tortured you.

Have you restarted your thyroid hormones yet? If yes, what were you restarted on and at what dose? Until your levels have improved I would suggest that you hold off on starting any supplements or new medicines for now, and avoid stress completely.

.

Regarding the non-thyroid tests, when you feel a bit better and your Free T4 and Free T3 are at much better levels, then in your shoes I would want to

1) raise folate to about 20 ug/L with methylfolate

2) raise ferritin to about 100 ug/L with an iron supplement of your choice

3) raise B12 to top of range or up to 1000 ng/L with methylcobalamin

I was surprised to see that despite the number of very poor results your cortisol is good.

Hi humanbean ❤️

I came of the thyroid medication because my endocrinologist took my T3 off me because of gastric issues, but put me back on the worst medication I'd been on T4 teva, I told her in no uncertain terms she knew T4 teva was worse she herself took me off it, and now wants to put me back on it knowing I'd have the same gastric problems which after trying it again 3rd time I did.. So I informed the surgery I'd be discontinuing taking it.

I've been trysince Jan 31st to get my surgery to do something and I finally got vencamil prescribed 2wks ago but due to a botch up on the bloods I had to stop it because the surgeon in Liverpool wanted to see my bloods while I'd been off thyroid medication 🤦

Anyway I started 12.5 today starting low and building up, as I said I'll know within 4/5days if it's going to effect my colitis 😔 I'm praying it works🙏

Sorry humanbean.... I fgot to mention cortisol... I'd have thought 7wks without any thyroid medication my cortisol would have been on the floor.. I'm surprised myself at that level 😲
