I have been suffering from frequent aura migraines ever since I had my covid jabs in 2021. (sometimes daily). I had a brain MRI which was normal and all bloods taken at the time were normal. I have recently discovered that migraines go hand in hand with hypothyroidism. I also have a huge number of other hypothyroid symptoms as well. I have suffered these symptoms for years, they are just much worse now. I am 65 years old and didn't suffer migraines before the menopause. I have family history of the disease - my father and my mother's sister had thyroid problems.
So, last week I had an advanced thyroid function blood test with Medichecks which has come back all normal. Results here below:
TSH 2.400mlU/L (Range: 0.27 - 4.2)
Free T3 5.5 pool/L (Range 3.1 - 6.8)
Free Thyroxine 18.3 pool/L (Range 12 - 22)
Thyroglobulin Antibodies 13.20 klU/L (Range 0 - 115)
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 13.1 klU/L (Range 0 - 34)
Ferritin 290.00 ug/L (Range 30 - 332)
Folate Serum 28.9 nmol/L (Range > 7)
Vitamin B12 Active 72.6 pmol/L (Range 37.5 - 188)
Vitamin D 136.0 mol/L (Range 50 - 250)
CRP HS 1.480 mg/L (Range < 3)
I realise that I should be pleased that everything is normal, but I am a bit nonplussed as I was absolutely sure that the bloods would show something up bearing in mind my symptoms and the fact that I feel absolutely dreadful. I would be very grateful for any opinions or advice as to how I should proceed. I'm not sure where to go from here. Very Many Thanks!
