Hi everyone, sorry have not been here for some time , have had a lot of unresolved health issues, am fighting with NHS and have been for a long time now , am still battling Sarcoidosis and am not being listened to by doctors and gp , but as its autoimmune and not thyroid related , can't go into it here .Anyway, these are my latest blood results

CRP HS 1.95mg/L R= <3

Ferritin 81.2ug/L R= 30 - 332

Folate 14.4nmol/L R= >7

Vit B12 95.6pmol/L R= 37.5 - 188

Vitamin D 102nmol/L R= 50 - 250

TSH 4.76mlu/L R= 0.27 - 4.2

Free T3 3.1pmol/L R= 3.1 - 6.8

Free T4 14pmol/L R=12 - 22

T A 16.9klU/L R= 0 - 115

T P A 10.3klU/L R= 0 - 34

Am at present taking 75mg thyroxine and 10mg liothyronin

Anyone has any comments or advice, it would be appreciated

A TSH of over 4 on combination therapy is far too high. On almost any amount of T3 it will likely be under range if not suppressed.

Increasing Levo by 25mcgs would help alot if you can request that.

When was your last dose of Levo & T3 before this test? Recommended timings are 24hrs for Levo & 8-12hrs for T3.

Is an Endo prescribing your T3? You may need to find a different one.

Vit B12 & D3 are good.

Ferritin could be a touch higher. Concentrate on iron rich foods.

Hi Jaydee , thank you for getting back to me .The blood test was a 24 hour fasting test

I can understand what you are saying about T3 and T4 , last time I increased the thyroxine I became very ill and my T4 markers went off the scale , I'm unable to see an endo as Dr's won't refer me , as far as they are concerned, my thyroid is under control . I am tired all the time , not sleeping , hair very thin again , also have developed severe tinicus in both ears , it is constant 24/7 . What vitamin supplements do you suggest, at the moment I take 3000 D3 , Selenium, and that's really about it . What can you suggest for the B12 please .

Are you sure you didnt take your Levo just before the test last time when it went of the scale?

Not all Endo;s need a referral. You could also try the prescribing service at Roseway Pharmacy.

You dont really need much extra B12 but if you took a good methyl B complex it would raise your folate and help all your other B's. Here are some suggestions:

Hi Jaydee , thank you for getting back to me. No , all my blood tests have been done fasting , I have used medichecks for some time now and have always followed the guidelines . Thanks for links for vit B As for endo , very very hard to find one who is reputable and knows what they're talking about , I mean , it's virtually impossible to get a gp appointment let alone an endo appointment, and I don't have the funds to keep going private .

Last 5mcg dose T3 should have been 8-12 hours before test

So Ft3 result is false low if last dose 24 hours before test

Which brand of levothyroxine are you using

Hi SlowDragon, thanks for getting back to me , the brands of levothyroxine I take are , Mercury Pharma and Almus and the one for liothyronine is Morningside Pharma .
