The iron content will stop much of the uptake of the other things but it got my thumbs down with the high content of the inactive form of B6 which can do more harm than good 😕

I didn’t even think about the B6 thank you for replying shame because the rest is good 😞

Not many multi-vits are 'safe to take'. And all of them are a waste of money: things you don't need and not enough of those you do need; wrong form of the nutrients; iron blocking absorption of other things; calcium blocking absorption of iron; iodine messing up hypo blood levels. You might just as well put your money straight into the dustbin and cut out the middle man.

You need to get your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested and just take what you need. Excess is never better and can be dangerous.

If you have high cholesterol levels, it probably means your FT3 is too low. If you have acid reflux it probably means your stomach acid is too low. Sound like you're being rather badly treated.

hi Greygoose thank you for taking the time to answer. I was just hoping for something in 1 tablet, instead of lots of different products, as struggle swallowing them at times.

I already take vit d but in spray form as have always had problems with very low levels

My last vitamin test said my B12 was normal

I struggle with taking too much T3 as my palpitations get worse, but if I don’t take them I feel very ill with lots of anxiety.

I’m lucky with having an endo who allows me to trail different amounts for 6 weeks then rechecks me. I have just put my T4 back up as was very very tired with a lot of joint pain. I only normally have to ask him to put one up or down and he does it. He says he can trust me !

My medication was great levels great etc until last year when I got Covid, never been right since, lots of palpitations when meds too high !

Here’s my vit levels, doctor had put me on folate for three months due to low levels !

Did he put you on methylfolater or folic acid? What your doctor doesn't understand is that taking one isolated B vit is not going to help much. They all work together so need to be kept balanced. You'd be better off on a good B complex, one containing 400 mcg methylfolate.

Doesn't matter if your B12 is high when taking supplements because it is water soluble so excess is just excreted.

Your calcium is a bit low, but taking vit D should increase your absorption of calcium from food. Which is why you should take vit K2-MK7 with it, to make sure the extra calcium goes into the teeth and bones, and doesn't build up in the soft tissues and areteries.

You should also take magnesium with vit D because the two work together, and taking vit D without it will just deplete your magnesium, which your body needs for so many things. But there's no point in testing magnesium because the results are not reliable due to the way the body handles it. Just take some. It's water soluble so excess will be excreted.

I was just hoping for something in 1 tablet, instead of lots of different products

Impossible, I'm afraid, because everyone's needs are individual to them. And if someone has a real deficiency it would be impossible to pack the necessary amount of everything into one pill without it becoming much too large. But there are sprays you could use. And some pills do have useful combinations, like vit D and vit K2. So, it is possible to cut down on how much you have to swallow.

I'm afraid covid messed a lot of us up. I haven't been right, either, since I had it in October 2022. I don't know if it's long covid or what, but nobody has yet worked out what to do about it. :'(

Folic acid ! I did say I needed to be on folate but she just said it’s the same 😂😂😂

Well, it isn't the same. Folic acid needs to be converted to methylfolate, and not everybody is very good at that. But, as I always say: never take nutritional advice from a doctor because they know nothing about it. They just don't do it in med school, but because they went to med school, they think they know everything. But they're just as ignorant and brain-washed as any other member of the public. You can't trust them to know what's best.

Get vitamin levels tested

Then only supplement what’s necessary .

What are your most recent thyroid and vitamin results and ranges

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing
