A good B Complex will contain the active forms for good bioavailability. I did very well on Thorne Basic B and it's well recommended here. Look for methyl forms in the complex, eg methylcobalamin and methylfolate, and don't go for high dose B6 as long term high amounts can cause problems. Recommended is 10mg daily.

Is that ok to take as well as the folate and iron from

The Doctors?

I don't think you'll find a B Complex without either folic acid or folate.

Keep iron at least 2 hours away from any other supplements.

Ok thanks. I don’t know if I am deficient in the other b vitamins. But I thought I should give it a bash

If you are having B12 you should take a B Complex to balance all the B vitamins.

What kind of problems do high B6 cause?

It would have to be high doses over a long time but can cause nerve damage, amongst other things. I've seen recommended 10mg daily, so I stick to that.

Thanks for the info! Did not know about that!

Igennus Super B complex is my preferred option. Full dose is 2 tablets daily, but can start on just one, best to take B vitamins in morning.

Ignore this if it's intrusive but did you use this for the Gominak sleep protocol with vitamin D, SlowDragon ? I'm eyeing it up for a couple of people in my family and trying to decide what would be the best product match to the items she mentions.

I started back then on Thornes (couldn't stand the smell). Only took for week

Then Jarrows. Was fine.

Certainly helped with Peripheral Neuropathy. Plus Jarrow sublingual B12

But changed to Igennus a few months ago seems better, plus B12 sublingual Jarrows

Thank you. We're in deep discussions about people having testing and then starting the protocol to see if it helps their sleep and, depending on the test results, looking for appropriately dosed supplements.

Hello

I would be v interested in any info you gather on the best vitamin protocol for sleep. My sleep has really deteriorated in last few years. Would make such a difference if I managed to sleep all way through the night.

I know SlowDragon often links to this on vitamin D (and B) and sleep: drgominak.com/sleep/vitamin...

Adding a vitamin B complex can make us feel wired initially

I found that it was very difficult to sleep too when I started on B complex. Lasted 3-4 days. Then improved

Igennus Super B, you can take just one tablet, or even cut a tablet in half.

Is your vitamin D at good level ?

Dr Gominack website doesn't seem to be working

Here's YouTube by her
