ongoing problem with palpitations and suppressed TSH
background
thyroid removed 2007
62 years old
Last visit to endio, 8 weeks ago, he reduced m’y levothyroxine from 125 to 100, and T3 to 20 /15 alternative days, in the hope of stopping the palpitations and bringing up my suppressed TSH. I told him it’s suppressed because I’m on T3, but he was insistant on trying the above.
Saw him again last week, cholesterol has gone up again 7.9 to 8.5, still TSH suppressed (no surprise there) palpitations a little better. So referred to cardiologist and clinic for high cholesterol.
Plus just received a phone call from my GP telling me the endio has further reduced my levothyroxine to 75 T3 stays as is !!!
Sleep is now bad again only average 5 hours had got to 8 hours sleep before, feeling tired and depressed, no energy again. Now very worried the reduction will make this all even worse.
I really do not know what to do now, or which way to turn.

well my Endio seems to think it’s ok ? What makes you say you can’t ?
I know about T4 and T3 I have them all done every time, but my concern is the endio’s hang up about the TSH being suppressed therefore making me feel worse by reducing my Levothyroxine again
T3 has a short half life. It is not a storage hormone like t4. Because of this the body needs it taken as a stable dose or doses taking the same amounts at around the same time each day.
