I have been freezing cold for many years, but the situation is now ridiculous. I only take off my cardigan when the temperature outside is in the 20s. I had a partial thyroudectomy in 1976, aged 22, after carbimazole failed to do the job. I also suffer from extreme constipation.
As I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis I am trying to get my thyroxine dose reviewed. I want to be able to take my cardigan off so my body makes Vit D again !
I need the new post I saw yesterday that lists references to articles which recommend how GPs should manage symptoms which we report, for example pointing out that most of us feel better with a TSH level much lower than is generally accepted as OK. I have read around on here for months and can see the sense of what you recommend, but need the articles intended for GPs at this point, before embarking on a blood test.
Can somebody senc me the .ink, pleaze ?

I am not an expert and other will provide you with the tecnical information. However, I decided to send you a message to tell you my experience.
I had the same 'all the time cold' no matter the weather (even on holidays in hot southern Spain) since i had my total thyrectomy in 1992. Shibering was very common. Nothing was said by the doctor/s and I just learnt that nothing was to be done and I had to live with it and cope the best I could by layering.
All stopped the moment I joined healthunlocked two years ago. It is here where I heard about T3 and combined therapy and it is here where I got the idea that it was not OK to feel that cold of the time and that it was my right to seek to improve my quality of life and wellbeing.
As soon as I started taken T3, I no longer got cold again or needed to layer.
It is not ok for you to be cold all the time. Others will suggest what need to be done next.
Thanks. I'm a bit stressed out at the moment -dealing with British Gas - so will recruit my husband to turn the printer on and get copies. Nothing to lose by trying to get prompt action from the GP !
