HRT after Thyroid Cancer

Hi everyone this is my first post. I had papillary thyroid cancer 12 years ago when I was 26. Radical neck dissection full thyroidectomy dozen lymph nodes removed. I've been on a rollercoaster with thyroxine for all that time struggling to feel well.

Just got a new diagnosis of significant endometriosis, large cysts. Dr can't tell me its definitely not ovarian cancer until its removed. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'll be having surgery soon and may need hrt if my ovaries end up not working. Just wondering if it's OK to have hrt after thyroid cancer. Feeling rather sorry for myself, I've got 3 young kids and life is hard enough with thyroid fatigue and now this.

I don’t have an answer to your question.. except to say HRT is much safer than it used to be.

I had endometriosis which was sorted with d&c and hormones for 9 months.

Perhaps you could post your thyroid blood results here to see where you are with that. You would feel better if you were on optimal dose

I wanted to send a big virtual hug. You are dealing with so much xx

Thanks I appreciate your reply. Glad your treatment went well for endo. I'll post my recent results but I need to get T3 and thyroglobulin done. I've been discharged from oncology now since I'm past 10 years so I need to get a private test. Think my TSH should be a bit lower than above xx

Your testosterone is high and your FT4 is over the range … what thyroid issues are you having?

I suffer mainly with fatigue and feeling cold. Low mood. I just increased my dose from 125 to 150 levothyroxine. I had lots of symptoms on 125 dizziness, brain fog bad fatigue. Unable to function. I take famotidine for gastro issues which affect absorbsion rates even though I take it opposite ends of the day. Do you know much about the high testosterone if its something to be concerned with? My hormones are all over the place with endometriosis and several ovarian cysts. Thanks fir replying.

Yes, HRT is fine to use when you had thyroid cancer …. Just take them 3 hours apart.
