HRT and thyroid

I’m looking for help and advice. I have terminal cancer in my spine who’s is stable at the moment and I take a ‘natural’ cancer fighting drug every day. I have a goiter and a slight over active thyroid - I have no meds for this. My problem is I also take essiac tea, which makes me sweat and offsets the HRT. I know the easiest thing wld be to stop the tea, but it’s helping my cancer fight. I take it at night and my bed is soaking in the morning. Any advice?

Have you had B12, folate, ferritin and vitamin D levels tested

Low B12 can cause night sweats

No

You should test FIRST before starting any supplements

B12, folate, ferritin and Vitamin D

Privately if necessary

Via Medichecks, Blue horizon or Thriva

Hi nice to meet you and respect for what you are going through , why not go with what you want at this stage ? I am not familiar with the tea you mentioned or the hrt

Hi Dance149

I am so sorry to read your post. It must be very tough for you. I’m like Lizzo30 and have not experience of your tea (although did Google it) or hrt really. I am not of any use to you because I have an Underactive thyroid as well 🙄. I do suffer night sweats which have improved with the addition of t3 however I understand that’s not for you. I suppose you need something to stop yours working so hard. Im also thinking you’d prefer a natural way? I wonder if ashwaghanda (excuse spelling!) would help? Also other teas possibly? Maybe sage? Alternatively could you increase your hrt if the tea is reducing effectiveness? I do hope someone with experience of hyper thyroid comes and gives you better input!

As for night sweats… I use a sheet under my duvet. Then during the night I can throw the duvet off without having that ‘naked’ feeling and I have a fan that I leave on low. I find the fan helps.

I wish you the very, very best and only wish I could be full of decent info for you. Take care x.
