Please help with my lab results..

Free T4 .73 (.82-1.77) LOW

TSH 0.163 (.450-4.5) normal on NDT

RT3 7.6 (9.2-24.1 LOW

T3 total 90 (71-180)

Thyroid Peroxidase AB 18 (0-34)

Did not test for Free T3 even though I asked for it.

I am taking 81.25 mg twice daily of compounded NDT.

Also my cholesterol went up to 212 and LDL high at 152 and I am vegan. Last year all these results were normal.

I don't want to raise the dose as this is already a high dose.

what I should do?

Thanks

Without an FT3 result its hard to say where your results are at. RT3 is a pretty useless test when you're on NDT.

On NDT peoples FT4 is often low and some people do need to add a small amount of Levo for better balance.

I'd suggest you get some private labs run with TSH, FT4 & FT3.

Do the test at 9am or as close as possible and leave 8-12 hours from your last dose of NDT before the test.

Fast the morning of your test, just drinking water until after the blodo draw.

How are your vitamins looking - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?

What supplements are you taking?

Dr didn't take those tests either. He is clueless. I take Vitamin D and B12. I was using vaginal estrodiol/dhea for a month and stopped it 3 weeks prior to testing because it caused 7 lbs of added weight. Do you think that could cause the bad labs? Someone else suggested I lower the NDT dose and add some cytomel. Can't take levo unless I want to be bald.

It sounds like you've had some change recently and estrogen can change thyroid levels.

I wwould suggest you retest in another month but be sure to get the right tests done.

How much D3 & B12 are you taking?

Ferritin/iron and folate are often also an issue for hypo people. Suggest you get all your vitamin levels checked and post results when you have them.

Levo doesn't make hair fall out. Low vitamin levels need checking.
