I’ve been taking magnesium glycinate for a while before bed and found it really helps with sleep. I still wake up during the night, but go back to sleep much more quickly than before.
However, the tablets I take are big and I find them difficult. I have to eat something afterwards even if I’m not hungry which is annoying.
I’d really like to find a smaller tablet, even if I have to take two instead of one. If anyone can recommend another brand I’d be very grateful. The ones I take are Doctor’s Best from iherb.com.
Yes I tried that but that felt worse. Almost as if the sharp edges irritate my throat on the way down. I know it sounds a bit pathetic! I’m tolerating it because they make a difference, but if I can find something smaller I’d be delighted.
Hi - I notice above you said you take Magnesium citramate. Is that a typo or different/ better than Magnesium citrate? I’m just doing some research before buying some.
I tried halving the ones I bought from Ingennus, as would like smaller ones more similar to a paracetamol caplet or less. They have a line down centre to make them easy to break, but same problem, edges made them irregular shape and harder to swallow.
I think I’ll grind up as suggested as they don’t taste of much.
Let me know how you get on doing that. I was considering putting in orange juice to avoid taste issues. Would be a faff grinding them up every evening just before bed. I am too tired at that point so I don't think it's sustainable long term, but might help me use the rest of the pot.
I crushed some that were already halved, and I was avoiding, just using back of spoon on saucer, weren’t very dense at all, pretty tasteless too in small shot glass of water. Probably wouldn’t want to do that every night but if I get smaller ones too, might try it a few times a week or so until used.
I take 1 Soloray Magnesium glycinate 350mg at night I get them from Iherb.com it's a Canadian company great service and there easy to swallow capsules I buy my vitamin D from them as well they do a big range of Dr's Best as also
Thanks for the suggestion. They are really hard tablets and I don't think that chewing them would be easy. I'd prefer to find a different type to swallow.
I have several pills that I take that are larger and hard to swallow so I grease them up. Spread a little butter on them and they slide right down. I have dry mouth which also gives me dry throat l, this works for me. Good luck.
Hello @Andie222, I take magnesium glycinate too, and I find it useful. But I take it in powdered form, stirred into a little water. It doesn't taste great, but you get used to it! The brand I buy is available here, in case it's useful: peaksupps.co.uk/products/ma...
