Just wondering what type of magnesium you take to improve palpitations. I have been taking magnesium citrate but on reading up I think magnesium taurate may be the current one? I have not had much luck with the citrate.
If anyone has had any improvements with magnesium can you share which type and how long it took to be effective?
I was diagnosed with extra systole - I’m convinced these are to do with my thyroid hashis(as lots of people say on here). Always at night and they make me quite fatigued some days as they interrupt my sleep and it’s a very uncomfortable feeling. I don’t really want to go down the beta blocker route so hoping to find some alternatives.
Thanks

I find magnesium citrate fine although I don't take it for heart problems. It makes sense to try another form, it will be useful to know if it makes a significant difference.
Why not take a beta blocker? You can take one that steadies the heart and doesn't slow it down, e.g. sotalol.
When did you palpitations start, before or after you started thyroid hormone?
Iron good- ferritin on the low side so taking gentle iron. Cortisol tests were ok.. I def feel worse in evenings- tried Thorne supplements which made me feel worse!
Both types of antibodies have reduced to 100 .. one was 800 and the other 400 (see previous posts) .
My symptoms have definitely reduced overall- however palpitations are becoming more and more dominant.
I have remained dairy and gluten free.
Tirosent has been suggested by my doctor.. jst afraid of any type of levothyroxine!
I get these at night occasionally too, I was told by the gp that it most likely wasn’t due to the thyroid - have you been told it’s because of the hashimotos? I always have a bad day symptom wise after experiencing them at night - it’s nice to know it’s not just me!
I got diagnosed with extra systole separately from thyroid issues(went to specialist cardiac place because wanted to make sure I wasn’t going mad!) .. however there are so many people with palpitations from thyroid issues.. I’m pretty sure they are connected and not coincidental
Well because magnesium can lower blood pressure by 5/6 points which can be too lowalso grapefruit when already on BP medication. My mother's doctor who was one of the old school, always explained everything to her and myself. Mother lived to be 100 so she was well looked after and frequently visited by him at her home. No problem.
