I had my blood drawn at 8:00 AM / 24 hours after last dosage of 125 Levothyroxine and 10 Liothyronine. All in one dose early in the morning - usually around 6:00 AM.

With the assistance of the calculators I am:

50% through the reference range on T3

73.68% through the reference range on T4

-10.79% through the reference range on TSH

Unfortunately, B12 was left off the lists of tests to run but I am supplementing along with K2.

Any advice? Should I lower the T4? I wish my T3 was even higher … because I am still muddle- headed and tired. Plus, I cannot budge the scale even with consistent exercise and very little sweets. I am on the low FODMOP diet because of intestinal issues after gall bladder removal - With my gall bladder removal, I believe everything is wacky yet again. πŸ˜₯

(edited because I failed to include the reference ranges) πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

also, cholesterol and glucose ranges are elevated now.

If you left a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of T3 and the blood draw, you have a false low FT3, there. It should be a gap of 8 to 12 hours. So, it's normally recommended to split the dose the day before the test and take the second dose 8 to 12 hours before you're due to have your blood taken. However, if your cholesterol is high, your FT3 is probably too low for your needs.

Why would you want to decrease your levo? Your FT4 is at a nice level for most people. If your decrease your levo, not only will your FT4 drop, but so will your FT3.

Unfortunately, B12 was left off the lists of tests to run but I am supplementing along with K2.

Why are you taking K2 with your B12? One usually takes that with vit D + magnesium. When taking B12, one needs to take a B complex to keep the Bs balanced.

oh dear! i’m sorry greygoose. I mixed that up regarding the K2! I’m telling you, my brain feels like it is starving for energy.

I am taking a B complex as well as K2 w/ Vitamin D. And Magnesium Glycinate.

I guess the low TSH level was making me think to lower the T4 and maybe raise the T3? πŸ™„

I am currently so tired, sluggish brain, exhausted after exercise, cold feet, low body temp. etc. etc. and I have a endo appt. at the end of the month. Someone new. I can hear him now commenting on the TSH.

Sorry, I’m just exhausted.

I really appreciate your help.

If you are taking T3, reducing levo won't affect your TSH much, if at all. It's the T3 that keeps it low, because you no-longer need it - something that doctors just don't understand.

Could very well be that you're doing too much exercise, which really isn't a good idea if your FT3 is too low. If the amount of T3 you have in your system is limited, and you use it all in your muscels etc. to exercise (not use it up, though, you can't do that) there's not much left for everything else. Maybe give the exercise a miss for a while, and just do some gentle walking or swimming. But, you know, everything you do is 'exercise' as far as T3 is concerned, even thinking. So, it's a question of priorities, really: what sort of exercise is most important? Breathing or the treadmill, etc.?

I have the hardest time getting some things through my head … its’s the rowing machine for me. I get on and feel so great when I’m doing it – so I keep going. Only to find myself totally zonked later in the day or the next day. A true roller coaster.

Good advice. I will try simple breathing and walking for awhile.
