I thought I’d post today to say thank you for all of the wonderful advice you provided in the last few years.
I have been feeling well for almost a year now but I stupidly took my eye off the ball a couple of weeks ago. I ran out of B12 and forgot to buy more. All of my symptoms have returned. Light headed, pins and needles in face, hands and feet, heartburn, inability to think properly and weary weary body and brain. I had forgotten how awful it is.
However I know if I get back onto my regime - 75mcg Levo, mega probiotics, b12(1000ug), vit D (4000iu) folate (400mg) and magnesium spray, I should hopefully get back to feeling myself again. My GP and consultants never once believed my vitamin levels were a problem (they also didn’t think I needed more Levo). If it wasn’t for this group teaching me that optimum levels are not the same as ‘Normal’ range, I’d still be feeling horrendous. I’ve done a good test - my Levo clearly does not work properly without my b12. I did a test with my vit D abouta year ago and my bones ached again within a week of not taking it.
Thank you and good luck to everyone on their optimising journey.

I have only ever been given Levothyroxine and I am tested every year to check the amount is correct. I am on 100 micrograms and have found this sufficient. I did mention T3 to both my GP and an endocrinologist I saw and from blood tests they mention there was no need.
I do take calcium as I have bone issues from Prednisolone I take for another condition.
Do hope you have managed to sort all meds up now and are feeling much better.
Can I ask you about your B12 please? I am also on Levothyroxine (variable rate) but I’ve read that B12 might be helpful too. I suffer moderately from brain fog and tiredness. I have an appointment with my GP next week to discuss it. This is where I read it.

What dose of B12 do you take? Do you have an injection or tablets? Is there a brand you recommend for hypothyroid sufferers?
In the Thyroid UK FB group, one of the page experts is planning an information share this week which will be helpful but I’m interested in your experience. If you’re happy to share of course. Thanks. 😊
The links between thyroid disease and vitamin B12 are very strong. Including to Pernicious Anaemia. That is why we have strong links with the forum below. That includes having a considerable number of members in common.
