hi again all

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this forum and I’m just super sorry for the incessant posting today.

I have now spoken to the GP and have my results. zinc is elevated but copper mid range. So I’m a bit perplexed. She said to book in for a test in another months time as could be something in my diet (to avoid eating Brazil nuts) as I don’t take supplements with zinc.

TSH - 6.2 mu/L (0.4 -4.90)

Zinc - 23.2 umol/L (9.60 - 20.50umol/L)

T4 - 11.1 pmol/L (9.00 - 19.00pmol/L)

B12 - 445 ng/L (187.00 - 883.00ng/L)

Folate - 3.4 (3.10 - 20.50ug/L)

Vit D - 59.8 nmol/L (>49.90nmol/L)

Ferritin - 52 ng/mL (15.00 - 204.00ng/mL)

Copper - 18.9umol/L (11.00 - 25.10umol/L)

Would be interested to get folks thoughts on my results. I am subclinical but dr going to try 25mg of levothyroxine…and test in 8 weeks.

Is folate on the low end? I am breastfeeding could this impact?

What are the optimum TSH and T4 levels?

On another note - I called the GP after I had collected my prescription as remembered I’d read about getting a medical exemption certificate for levothyroxine. The receptionist mentioned that my records state Hypoparathyroidism - and now I am confused because google tells me this is different and treatment is calcium supplements. Should I clarify with GP? Could be a mistake? I’ve never had my calcium tested (at least not in the recent set of bloods) so I’m confused as to how this could be the diagnosis.

Thank you again all.

Always get printed copies of results or see your record online

Receptionist likely misread notes

B12 - 445 ng/L (187.00 - 883.00ng/L)

Folate - 3.4 (3.10 - 20.50ug/L)

Vit D - 59.8 nmol/L (>49.90nmol/L)

Ferritin - 52 ng/mL (15.00 - 204.00ng/mL

all slightly low
