Hi currently on 50mcg of levothyroxine just wondering what is the best vitamins to take currently take roughly about 3000iu of vitamin D and B complex and B12 spray and omega 3 daily any advice thanks.

Presumably you tested key nutrients before you started supplementing so that you would know exactly which vitamins to take and the dose? If not then we can't just supplement willy nilly. Some vitamins, if taken in excess, can build up and lead to toxicity.

As you are taking D3, are you also taking it's important cofactors magnesium and Vit K2-mk7 ?

Please post your up to date results, with reference ranges, plus units of measurement for Vit D and B12. Also tell us how much B12 and which B Complex and how much.

If you don't have current results it would be a good idea to test now to see where supplementing has taken your levels. Remember to leave B Complex off for 3-7 days before any blood test as it causes false results.

Just waiting on recent blood test taken a few days ago only tested TSH last time in Jan which was 3.9 as for Vitamin D it was low but didn't give me any ranges Dr told me to take A good Vitamin D high strength so will wait to see what the results show .

I always ask for a print out of results from my GP, as it’s always tricky writing them down if given over the phone. Ranges are so important, as these can vary between laboratories.

You are legally entitled to copies of test results

Have you had B12, folate and ferritin levels tested

You will need Thyroid levels retested 6-8 weeks after increasing levothyroxine dose to 50mcg (which is only the standard starter dose levothyroxine)

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
