Low estrogen and thyroid connection (lh and fsh good, no menopause)

Hey all,

I had my yearly labwork done for female hormones and got results:

Estradiol 31 (21-251)

Progesterone 0.29 (0.1-0.3)

LH 2.7 (1.8-11.78)

FSH 5.91 (3.03-8.08)

Free Testosterone 3.24 (0.1-6.3)

All checked on the 4th day of cycle (follicular phase)

With conjuction of my latest results on 2.5 gr of Armour:

Ft4 = 28%

Ft3 = 47%

In comparison, last year my estradiol was checked 3 times (different times of cycle) and was 58, so double the amount, LH and FSH consistent (no meno), my thyroid doses were higher.

Is there a correlation between lowish estradiol and lower ft4 or ft3?

Thanks!

Think I'm right in saying estradiol is the first to drop off when things start to slow down and it would tie in that if your system is running a little sluggishly due to lower thyroid levels everything starts to suffer...

It could recover if you bring your thyroid levels up a bit...

Just answering really to get you bumped up, are you getting symptoms? 🤗

Thank you Eeyore 🤗Yes, when I dropped the dose of Armour, about 2 weeks later my libido went down to zero, started to feel hot flushes in the morning and my period came early.

For comparison, when my ft3 ft4 were top range in November (I was running a bit hyper though), my libido was high.

In summer last year on the same amount of Armour and a bit of Levo, estradiol was a bit higher.

Sounds like you have a good grasp of the balancing act required, it takes a bit of tuning in but your body does try to give you the signs doesn't it 🤗

The body is doing all crazy sorts of things lately🫠😅I don't do well on Armour only, so I'm now adding some T3 to it, if that doesn't work will add T4. Trying to figure out if I need lower T4 or lower T3 basically. Since my conversion is not great and I have been on NDT for years with no issues, I wanted to try adding t3 to it first.

Not worth much as we are all different but it would seem many do well with FT4 50-60% and FT3 70-80% 🤷‍♀️I seem to fall into this bracket, so much easier to fiddle FT3 levels as FT4 takes far more patience!

I used to be that person, doing well with ft4 around 50-70% and ft3 same or higher.

I think that maybe with suppressed TSH my body needs less ft4 and more ft3🤷‍♀️time will tell! As you said, it's quicker and easier to fiddle FT3. FT4 is excruciatingly slow 😅

ESSENTIAL to also test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Was test done early morning and day before test did you split Armour into 2 smaller doses…..last dose Approx 8-12 hours before test
