Dear Dr ####

Re: Eeyore Date of Birth: ##

NHS Number: 490 ### ####

This is just a letter to update you about Eeyore who is hypothyroid, and we are currently prescribing levothyroxine for (lactose free) but also T3 under your guidance.

Her recent bloods have shown she is over treating with a TSH of 0.05 and twice in your recent clinic letters you have clearly outlined the long-term problems in relation to arrythmia and osteoporosis.

We had adjusted her dose as per your February letter down to levothyroxine 75mcg.

However, she is unwilling to drop her dose because of how she is feeling, until she speaks with you again in May.

This is just to update you that she will remain on the 100mcg thyroxine until that point, as sadly she has no interest in our advice in primary care.

Kind regards,

Letter sent unsigned to avoid delay

They might have actually read this by the time I go in May.... they didn't mention the fact I had already notified them all a month ago that I wasn't going to reduce πŸ™„

Small victory so have quickly requested the new script! Did request that they also wrote the script correctly but no joy there.... 😫

Levothyroxine sodium 100microgram tablets

56 tablet - take one each morning (Aristo brand, Vencamil)

Last Issued: Never

Even when I pointed out that they managed to correctly name the other rather less important things on my list.... πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ funny that!!

Lenzetto 1.53mg/dose transdermal spray (Gedeon Richter (UK) Ltd)

112 dose - 3x doses daily

Utrogestan 100mg capsules (Besins Healthcare (UK) Ltd)

120 capsule

Testogel 40.5mg/2.5g gel sachets (Besins Healthcare (UK) Ltd)

So why the issue with T3/4 branded prescribing??

Liothyronine 5microgram capsules

84 capsule - Take 1 three times a day ( total daily dose 15mcg ) (Roma Brand)

yes funny that innit ..... are they supposed to write the brand name first then, instead of levo /loi ?

Why they sounding so surprised /disappointed that a donkey is being stubborn .. it's just doing "what it says on the tin" (even if they cant get the name of the tin correct lol)

They are unaware of my alter ego... it would just confuse them further 🀣

The whole idea of having a named brand it to provide continuity but pharmacists only have to give you a named brand if the name is on the top line and preferably first as they obviously don't read beyond that?... they manage to name the other branded goods first??πŸ™„

They manage to name Testogel, Lenzetto and Utrogestan first?

when I picked up my last prescription there was a label clearly stating Liothyronine Mercury Pharma brand stuck carefully onto a Morningside box. 😩

I don't understand on what level they think that is acceptable 😩

would this be considered as a drug error?

I have raised the question of how patients can report dispensing errors - the current information is out of date and the form we are directed to simply fails.

When I get answers, I'll report back on forum.

Should be as obvious as the MHRA's Yellow Card system.

Despite a link claiming to be for patients, there seems to be no simple way of reporting. It is a case of contacting the pharmacy or going through whatever escalation processes exist.

woop 100mcg for the foreseeable. Glad you get to try some consistency in treatment and not yoyoing around. 🌱

Dear Dr

This patient is stubborn. She is well on the current dose but we dont want that, we want her to fit into our ranges. I recommend not arguing with her as it is like arguing the back leg off a donkey.

There, fixed that for you! πŸ˜€
