Advice on blood test result

Hi, After receiving a result of the CC gene (rs225014) on a Dio2 test and getting nowhere via my GP and a paper referral to an endocrinologist I decided to use ndt (thyroid s) on 16/12/22. Started on half grain for ten days, then one grain for 28 days and then one and a half grains. My blood test done on 20/1/23 shows results as follows;

Free T3. 6.7pmol/L. Range. 3.3. - 6.8

Tsh recept. 0.9u/l. ". 0. - 1.8

Serum free T4. 24.0 pmol/L. ". 10. -. 22

TSH. 0.02mlu/L. ". 0.30. -. 4.30

The last 2 results are just out of range. However I do not have any idea if these will present any problems. As a bit of a failsafe I have cut down to one tablet again.

Any help and guidance will be very much appreciated

Regards

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Plus thyroid antibodies

Only test thyroid levels after 6-8 weeks on constant unchanging dose

Day before test split NDT …taking last half dose approx 8-12 hours before test

Hi SlowDragon,Thank you, I was going to arrange another blood test in march. This one was really to check and see if I was drastically overdoing anything. I will stay on the single tablet dose until next bloods. I did also wonder if just a small dose of T3 would be better than the ndt. Maybe that's something to consider after next bloods are sorted out.

Regards.

More likely less NDT and add some levothyroxine

Or try levothyroxine …….plus small dose of T3 if conversion remains poor once on high enough dose levothyroxine

Hi SlowDragon,Thanks again, clearly lots to consider to try and get things resolved in the absence of a Dr willing to take an interest.

Hi Mintgreenish, I haven't been taking this dose for very long but I do feel slightly improved overall. I feel more alert, the pains I suffered from in some of my joints are easing off. I am going to follow SlowDragons advice and keep on a stable dose for a while longer then check my bloods.
