Following on from my post last week I have been reminded to start taking my supplements again which I got lazy with. I have now ordered all the necessary ones with guidance from SeasideSusie and SlowDragon . The supplements I have now are:
Doctors Best - Vit D3 2000iu
Vegavero - natural K2 200 ug
Thorne - basic B complex
Cytoplan - magnesium citrate (500mg), I take 2 as it helps with the constipation.
I understand I can take the vitamin K every other day as it is 200ug, but I am not sure what the best timings are to take these supplements?
I take my first dose of thyroid meds 6.30 - 7.30 am (15mcg lio and 50mcg levo) and leave around 2 hours or so before I eat breakfast. I take my second dose of lio (15mcg) at around 4-4.30pm.
I’d be grateful for any help from you knowledgeable lot.
I haven’t had my vitamins, folate etc tested for around 18 months as been having regular thyroid blood tests done by Endo. Plus I keep putting it off as I am extremely squeamish and can’t even read the instructions for doing finger prick test without coming over all funny! I will have to pay the extra for phlebotomy service, which obviously makes it not only more expensive but less convenient too.
I may see if I can get my GP to do an iron test as I am concerned at my hair not growing for past 5 months, plus loosing more than normal, but that could also be down to my thyroid levels being low?

It's not recommended on here but I take all my supplements at once. Usually mid morning. I tried taking them 'properly' and found I ended up missing most of them most of the time!
So this way I can be consistent and it doesn't look like it's hindered my absorption.
Sorry to ask; but aren't B Vits water-soluble and so should not be taken with oil-soluble vitamins, such as E, D3 and K2? I take Magnesium at night with Vit C, as C stops the absorption of B12. I take my B vitamins with Amino Acids first thing, or mid-afternoon - away from meals. D3 and K2 with oils and food.As you did, I got out of the habit and am feeling better for restoring them to my day. Good luck with keeping it up!
