I was diagnosed with hypo 7 months agos and was put on levothroxine building up to 100 , all of my symptoms disappeared over the next 4 months and my tests came back ok Tsh 0.7 . I was also taking supplements to help me along as all my vitamins were low . Although the original symptoms have gone I had constant headaches / migraines and widespread pain especially in my back shoulders and legs , I was told by various doctors I could have muscle relaxers and pain killers which I chose not to take , things went from bad to worse and I changed to armour thyroid . For the first months I felt like I had got my life back just fantastic , I started on I grain a day ( split dose ) and now am on 1 1/2 . Maybe I am jumping the gun and I am on my period but the last few days I have been so tired and sleeping without even moving in the night ( plus a afternoon nap which I had stopped ) and today I have signs of the anxiety returned arggghhhh , am I being paranoid ,, is it the period hormones any ideas ???? Sorry for waffling xxx

How long have you been on 1.5 grains? If it has been more than 2 weeks, you might benefit from increasing to 2 grains.

Are you taking your body temperature? This can give a good indication of whether you are getting towards your optimal dose. This might be worth doing.

If you are worried about increasing by a whole 1/2 grain, you could always increase by 1/4 but if you have had no problems increasing so far you may find you are fine with the whole 1/2 grain.

It might be worth getting your bloods done again to see what your levels are. You will need to get T3 tested too, which shouldn't be a problem because you are taking something containing T3.

I hope that helps a little.

Thanks Carolyn , I think that's a good idea I'm always cold although my body temp is the best it's been at 36.3 on a good afternoon ! And of course the weight keeps creeping on !! Anyway positive thinking :)))

It does sound like you might need another increase. My temperature is now 36.5 on a good day, so some improvement. You should be able to get it somewhere near 36.8 - 37.0. Perhaps see if you feel better with another 1/2 grain increase.

Let us know how you get on :)

I agree with Carolyn and think you could try a small increase. I have found it necessary to increase in 1/4 grain increments. I was feeling anxious and headachey 2 weeks ago and a 1/4 grain increase has really helped. Good luck xx
