Hi aged 50In November i was very low had thyroid test results TSH was 8.05 range 0.38-5.33

T4 13.3 range 11-26

T3 4.7 range 4.0-6.6

Vit D 79 take supplements

Vit B12 431 range 145-914 take supplements

So i was on 100mg levothyroxine GP text not enough thyroid hormone and suggested 25 mg increase and test 3 months

Teva made me feel really ill

So Dr said take 150 mg accord levothyroxine on that dose of 150 mg 5 weeks

Blood results Jan 2023

TSH 0.80

T4 16. 0

T3 5.1

Vit B12 391 no supplements

Vit D 0.0 reception not helping, asked do i stay on 150 mg and when do another blood test, she replied not urgent and routine be at least a few weeks before GP looks at it.

For 10 years was TSH 0.01 and endro could not get off the ground.

Is it worth another referral as concerned it going back that way.

Still not feeling right

Thanks lisa

Teva levothyroxine upsets many, many people

Get GP to add not to all future prescriptions “No Teva”

Was this test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Was this NHS or private test?

Please add ranges on Ft4 and Ft3 and B12

You need Folate and ferritin levels tested

What vitamin supplements do you normally take?

Thank you, i have added ranges in the first blood test results, done first thing in the morning. Supplements was Vit b complex, evening primrose oil, pre menopause with magnesium, but had covid so stopped them.so i am only taking evening primrose oil at the moment.NHS and levothyroxine was taken 24 hour before blood test

Thank you

Lisa

Really you have tested too soon after increasing dose

Can you clarify are you taking Accord 150mcg daily

or

125mcg daily (cutting 50mcg Accord tablets in half to get 25mcg)

Suggest you retest again in another 6-8 weeks minimum

Results suggest you are still under medicated but may improve at next test

FT4: 16 pmol/l (Range 11 - 26) 33.33%

FT3: 5.1 pmol/l (Range 4 - 6.6) 42.31%

Suggest you start back on separate B12 and daily vitamin B complex

Are you currently on gluten free diet or dairy free diet

Hi

I have just asked GP for a referral back to my endocrinologist, she said no as thyroid is controlled.

Many thanks Lisa

Get full thyroid and vitamin testing done in another 6-8 weeks

Test early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Remember to stop taking vitamin B complex 3-5 days before test

Come back with new post once you get results

Have you ever had thyroid antibodies tested for autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s)

Presumably you do have Hashimoto’s as already had coeliac blood test done and have IBS

But might be worth checking antibodies

NHS only tests Thyroglobulin antibodies if TPO antibodies are high

Significant minority of Hashimoto’s patients only have high TG antibodies…..therefore diagnosis is missed
