I have had lower neck tenderness for several months - assumed it was thyroid related as I have previously had a partial thyroidectomy and the pain is in the ‘remaining side’’ had a private ultrasound scan but apparently my thyroid is fine with two small modules around 5mm which I was told were nothing to worry about. The tenderness is getting worse and I was wondering if anyone else has had this. I take 2 grams of NDT split over two doses daily for hashimotos also have fatigue/muscle twitching/headaches. It was suggested it could be damage to my laryngeal nerve but only a suggestion. Thanks in advance

Are you on right level on NDT? fatigue/muscle twitching/headaches could be a sign of over or under replacement.
What test have you had? TSH, FT4, FT3?
Had any thyroid antibodies tested when diagnosed?
Also important to test folate, ferritin, b12 & vitamin D.
You may benefit from a magnesium supplement as low levels associated with twitching & headaches. I take citrate powder in a drink a nighttime (said to be good for sleep) or Bisglycinate form might be suitable.
It can be supplemented safely, testing is possible but can be inaccurate because it is stored in bones & tissues and body good a maintaining blood levels.
