Recommendations for hoarse throat & tenderness

Hi. I have a question for the hive regarding a hoarse throat … 🙋‍♀️ is ultrasound the best method for analsis of the thyroid for abnormalities??

I was sent for a CT recently by my family doc (with no abnormalities detected) but I know there’s an issue with this new issue of hoarseness combined with very tender to the touch tonsil area as well. I can’t help thinking that the GP has not had the correct test/scan done 🤔 Hoping for some feedback here on what I should be doing next for best results.

Rusty the hoarse voice and sore throat are one of my symptoms. I used to lose my voice completely and suffer a lot of pain. Nothing showed up on investigation by ent. I dont lose my voice these days but when I do too much my voice goes husky.

Have you had your vitamins levels checked? This is a symptom of mine. My folate level needs bringing up and I’m adding T3.

My voice became very hoarse when I was under/ wrongly medicated. My GP was considering a referral to ENT, but...

Since being correctly medicated I no longer croak like the proverbial frog!

Have you followed the advice greygoose gave you in your last post?

With the limited info available it looks as if you are undermedicated. Without both FT4 and FT3 we cannot judge your conversion status.

Thanks so much for weighing in. Yes I need to get FT labs in hand asap. They simply do not test where I live so this necessitates a private lab. But I strongly suspect I need to add Cytomel to my regiment.

I don't think there's anywhere in the UK that tests T3 as standard. All here pay for their own labs unfortunately, but that's the price of being well.

I was away this weekend and did more than usual. My voice was terrible last night! Hoping my T3 arrives Monday. Good luck.
