Hi Rather than guess! I would have an ultra sound of the thyroid pronto. It is just the test for this, initially but you may then need a biopsy

Thanks Jackie, I was going to wait til i go back and see my endo in may but think i will go to my own gp sooner, I will let you know how i get on but will probably take a while as there is usually a long wait at our sugery, at least a week, Thanks again June xxx

Hi Jackie, Saw endo yesterday, he said the pain in my neck was coming from the spine, it has been ok for a few weeks so maybe it was. He is sending me for a ct scan, cant have mri , really clostrophobic, also done some blood tests. I did mention the vit b12 and iron but he didnt take me on. Already take vit d and that is being checked too. Told him i am always exhausted and no energy but he didnt comment. Just have to see wether the scan or bloods show anything, Thanks again for your help June xx

Hi June, CT scan is good, I cannot have MRI`s and have lots, true not as good but still fine.I am not sure it is good enough for the thyroid itself, all scans are so different. I certainly had both for my PTH and of course the nuclear PTH scan. Also I am not too happy with the rest. All I can say if it was me is I would seriously consider having a new referral at a different hospital and do lots of enquiries first.I have just answered a question with my reply very long on a Forum question from a few days ago, I cannot remember the day, The individual question was " Looking for a consultant" by chris5pens. However, the answer was a reply to some one else on that question. Sorry if that is confusing it is the middle of the night.!

I know when I have hesitated over a consultant`s carer , or not sure about them, I have always had major problems with the wrong treatment. So, I have learnt to start again but research vital.

Sorry if that is not too encouraging Even years ago after seeing a private doc for 2 years ( Difficult GP, no referral) I had all the tests from my Endo and she found 4 other things wrong that of course had never been tested., I had also been overdosed on armour.Neck could be cervical spondylosis ( Spelling ?), type of OA. It starts fairly young, I have had it for years, bearable but a soft surgical collar helps a lot.Old fashioned rheumy !

Best wishes,

Jackie

I only changed consultants at the back end of last year, he told me i could carry on getting my growth hormone prescription from the royal at liverpool where there are specialist nurses- they are better than the doctors. But when i rang them they said i cant, going to be getting it from nurse at new hospital but there will only be me on it at the clinic so not sure how much knowledge they will have, . Think i have gone out of the frying pan into the fire. suppose i will just have to wait and see. Wasnt happy at the royal as its a training hosp (nothing wrong with that) but never see the same person twice and dont seem interested, I will have to give new endo the benefit of the doubt and wait and see what happens. Thanks June xx
