Following my terrible appointment with a non communicating GP, I had a blood test on Tuesday. On Wednesday I had a phone call from the surgery from another GP I did not know.
She wanted to discuss my thyroid results that had come back "too low". She was talking about my TSH! She wanted to up my drugs because my TSH was 0.01.
I agreed!
I will get the rest of the results tomorrow hopefully. Just thought this may make you smile!

you wouldn’t normally increase your thyroid medication if your TSH was low (suppressed) normally a Dr would be requesting you decrease your medication??
I so wondered what your post was going to be about. The punchline is fantastic. Well done on your quick thinking! You definitely made me laugh out loud. Thank you!
Every time I have my bloods done I get a call as my TSH is 0.01 and every time I tell my GP surgery that my TSH is to be ignored as I have hypopituitarism! They even lowered my thyroxin prescription without telling me.! My endocrinologist is going to write to them. My point is, this is my gp and they have no clue about any of my conditions! I am on biologic therapy for Ankylosing spondylitis and again they ask me why I am on a biologic! Amazing! Strange as the receptionists seem to know everything there is to know about medicine!!!!
Have you thought about asking your GP to put his/her comment and suggestion in writing... ?.you never know when you might need it! My heart sank reading your post. Oh to be heard and advised by people that understand.
I do get my medical notes occasionally. I think they have learned to not say much. One said "this lady likes to run her thyroid levels high". A week later it showed my results were below range!
I had a kidney op. I get called once a year for a prostate exam because of this. I am female, with a female name. I might just attend next time!
