Have to laugh and trying to learn

Trying to exercise patience as I wait for my test results. As usual, I’m in bed shaking internally, weak, nauseous and freezing with lots of blankets and a heating pad. Trying to laugh, at myself, to get me through. I’ve been reading posts for a few hours. I’m learning as I go but, as my mother used to say, I’m a sight for sore eyes.

Really hoping that results give me a clue about what to do to get out of this bed. This group is so supportive and very informative. Thanks to all of you!

Greekchick, I read your story. You’ve been through so much. The thyroid is a very powerful organ. Who knew? Hope you’re feeling better.

Thank you. I am much better - and every day there is progress, so I always remain hopeful and optimistic for the future. All things thyroid are very slow - both the disease and the remedy. There is light at the end of the tunnel though - hang in there, Coach.

Good to hear

I wish I could hug you right now. Hang in there, you are not alone. You are in transition and super strong. Do whatever makes you feel good now. This shall pass . I was in bed for 2 months straight disoriented. You will get out of it very soon xxx

Thank you! It’s a challenge. I’m learning about the power of the thyroid. Was clueless before mine started doing somersaults. Got up every morning, took my levo and went on my merry way. Well...that’s not working anymore. Glad you made it to the “other side”!

It is a challenge, but knowledge is power and you need this power to get you through x my meds were working fantastically and then one day I thought I was dying :( when should you be getting your results back? How long are you on t3? My suggestion : if my ft4 close to the top, I feel sick (burning arms, hypo/hyper feelings). Post them once you get them and we will see what to do next x

Will do! Labs usually come back in 24 hours. It’s been a long seven months. Thank you!!!!

Brilliant - I will keep an eye on your post then. It has, you deserve a break, hang in there!

Also, I have seen your posts. My rollercoaster also started with high doses of steroids - Prednisone, that was 2 years ago. It was like a hormone flush into my body, I had all overdose symptoms, lost so much weight so fast. Big hugs

Oh my! Me, too!!! 40 pounds but I’ve gained back two. I needed to lose the weight, but not like this. Wish it hadn’t happened to you but I find relief that I’m not alone. Best!

Same, people were telling me how well I looked and I was so, so sick, couldn't stand on my legs or go anywhere, I thought I was losing my mind. You are certainly not alone and we will get through it together!

How are you doing now?

in reply to Coachgeorge

I'm working, walking, travelling every week by plane, I'm not there yet, but it's a lot better. I had to move from dessicated pig thyroid to Levo and now adding t3. I would have saved 1.5 years of suffering if I did transition to combination therapy sooner. But things are looking up!
