after being asked to lower levo to 50 mcg!

I have delayed a telephone conversation with GP as I am under a Endo whom I’m seeing today .

I wanted to talk to him about this so called request , I think lowering my 50 is ridiculous. Based on TSH as usual .

Test show T3. 3.0. 3.1 - 6.8

T4 17. 12-22

This is from memory .

The practice has removed any test results of mine from my Patient access !

I cannot believe this is right and I thought it was my right to access my own medical notes held at GP’s

what is it about thyroid treatment that causes this reaction !

Just to remind readers I had thyroidectomy 6 years ago .

have you spoken to them about this? It might just be an admin reset as a result of a system update for example. Ask them to reinstate your access if you haven’t already ….. if you have and they have refused they need to give you a reason

Never agree to dose reduction without getting printed copies of actual results and ranges for

TSH, Ft4 and Ft3, vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

If Ft3 is not over range you’re not over medicated

What replacement thyroid hormones are you currently taking

What dose and which brand

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Last 1/3rd of daily dose T3 (or NDT) approx 8-12 hours before test

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Lower to 50mcg when you don’t have a thyroid?? Yes, I think you already know most of us would be appalled by that idea! Especially if your FT3 really is under range!

Honestly, what is it with these people? If I understand the thyroid-pituitary feedback loop (and how it effectively breaks once you take a component out of the loop) why can’t they get it??

Sending you all best wishes for getting this sorted. x

I don't think it is just thyroid treatment. I think it is any comment from the patient about anything that could be construed as a complaint.

Via patient access I can view my repeat prescriptions, order them, and allegedly I can make appointments to see doctors, but only if I'm prepared to wait a couple of months.

I have never bothered to ask for enhanced access because I would have no idea what they had deliberately excluded from view. But if I did get enhanced access I would take screenshots of everything at the earliest opportunity.
