Those of you who have applied to see medical records and test results on patient access, how long did it take from you handed in the application til you could see your results? I've waited over 2 weeks and I already had patient access of war just the extra info I wanted to see.

Patient access
I don't know the answer, but I have registered directly with my surgery but can only book appointments, view my vaccinations and order a repeat prescription. Unfortunately, I cannot view blood tests online. Is there any advantage in registering via Patient Access?
I also applied for access & got it after about two weeks as well! But I wanted to see my patient record from the time I joined the surgery, 15, nearly 16 years ago. I was only given access to the past month's information!
The reason I wanted to see my record from so far back was to find out exactly when I was first treated for hypothyroidism & to find out the test results from way back then.
I still don't have access to my blood test results online even though I've had two in the past month since I have access to my online record.
My local surgery seemed unable to produce but Dr gave me a very rough copy with several omissions. I applied to my local hosp and after filling form and producing id I received all tests within 3 weeks. Then paid 10£.
I got copies of my records from local hospital and it took 28 days from me applying to me receiving them in the post. For blood tests I always ask for a copy my latest one at the next gp appointment I get and it has been questioned but so far I have never been refused. I just say I like to keep my own records as I take an interest in my health.
I applied for my full file from the hospital and paid £50. They sent me the results of my smear tests...It took 18 months for them to send the bulk of the file and the bits I wanted about an operation that went wrong were missing....and were never "found".
For blood tests from the GP, I ring up and say I will pick them up at such and such a time - they are usually ready and I have never been asked to pay. I then go through them at the counter and point out any that need treatment and ask the receptionist to arrange it. I am not popular....
Don't know why, but not all surgeries are set up to enable us to see test results via Patient Access. Those that are sill have to enable it. At my surgery the receptionist was trying to tick the box on the screen (left hand side, I could see her pointing at it in front of me) but couldn't because it was greyed out / protected. She called over one of the nurses who found another box to tick (right hand side) which enabled the first box by unprotecting it. It may be similar for you?
My surgery still hasn't made online access to medical records or blood tests available. I can make appointments and order repeat prescriptions online but that is all.
About two or three months ago my surgery was handing out leaflets in the waiting room about online access, but as far as the staff were concerned the whole thing was still "experimental". In reality, surgeries have been expected to provide access to records online for about the last two years, and some surgeries have been in the forefront. My surgery appears to be bringing up the rear...
