You have to leave 6-8 weeks after any change of thyroid meds or dose before retesting, this gives time for levels to settle .
When taking NDT it's essential to test FT3, this is the most important test. Because taking T3 in any form it lowers both TSH and FT4 levels, and you must know your FT3 level to be able to know if you are optimally medicated or whether dose needs adjusting.
Thank you, Slow Dragon, for your reply. I'll order a comprehensive test from Blue Horizon in a few weeks - I can't believe I wasted £60 on the Superdrug one and only got TSH and FT4! Lesson learned. I've had Blue Horizon before, but not for several years so I have no up-to-date vitamin levels.
I supplement daily - Vit D, Vit B12, Co-enzyme Q10, Glucosamine & Chondroitin, and Magnesium
I feel generally well on NDT - and also did on 125 Levothyroxine - but the terrible joint pain started a few months ago and sent me in search of ndt. I'll be patient and wait a few weeks then retest - for a more accurate picture of things.
