Was test done early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Ft3 is not over range….you’re not over medicated

Refuse to reduce dose to 75mcg unless you feel over medicated

You could suggest you might consider SMALL 12.5mcg dose reduction….perhaps 2 or 3 days a week

But that your getting vitamin levels tested BEFORE considering and dose change

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Thank you for replying so quickly. I did not get my bloods done until 11 am but I made sure my last thyroxine was not taken the morning before , I told them I did not want to reduce down ,so they said to have another blood test done in 8 weeks time ,last time they reduced me 75 m I was so ill . I notice I typed LeeLee I am Lizlee and have sort help from Thyroid UK before.

Do you mean you didn't take your Levo before the test on the day, or you didn't take it on the morning of the day before? That makes a big difference.

If you took it as normal the day before the time gap would be about 24 hours which is what we advice. If you didn't take it the day before the time gap would be nearer 48 hours which is far too long and gives a false low result. So if you didn't take it the day before and last dose was about 48 hours before the test then a false low FT4 of 25.4 means your normal level would be quite a bit higher.

The time gap was 24 hours before my blood test was done.

Include vitamin D test

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

The only brand that makes 75mcg is Teva

Teva brand upsets many people
