Recent NHS iron results

I posted my medichecks results a few weeks ago with full thyroid panel indicating low ferritin . I made an appointment with gp who was not aware of the NICE guidlines regarding this. I gave her a copy of the information I had from this site and she accepted them

However because I am over 60 she was directed to the guidelines with regards to this and ongoing fatigue. She made an urgent referral to GI specialist and asked for urine and stool samples (both came back clear) I have no symptoms with regard to stomach or GI since following advice on this site gluten-free and vitamin supplements.

She organised blood tests the results I received today on the NHS app below

Serum iron levels

14.1 umol/L(9.0-30.4)

Serum transferrin

2.74 g/L

(2.50-3.80)

Unsat iron binding capacity

69 umol/L

(45-81)

Transferrin saturates index

20%. (15-40)

Serum ferritin 22ug/L

(10-291)

I have a telephone consultation on Saturday with GI doctor not sure how useful this will be. In the meantime I am very fatigued feel wiped out after any activity and constant ringing and hissing in my ears

I would appreciate any advice about how to proceed.

Thanks in advance.🙏

As a vegetarian with Hashimoto’s it’s going to be extremely difficult to maintain good iron and ferritin

Presumably you have increased Vitamin D

TSH. 0.06 mu/L. (0.27-4.2)

FreeT3. 4.55pmo/L. (3.12-6.8) = 39.19% through range

Free Thyroxin 18.1 pmo,/L (12-22) = 61% through range

Have you now increased levothyroxine dose a little?

Yes increased vitamin D but not levothyroxine dose I am still lacking in confidence about doing this as last endo made me anxious about my tsh being too low and possibly causing heart problems . How much should I increase ?
