Blood results & what do I tell my doctor?

Hi everyone. I've finally got some blood results that look more promising in terms of the fT3 and fT4 being in a better place through the range.

The difference being I increased from 25mcg lio to 30mcg lio and take them a 3 x 10mcg at 6/7am, 2pm and 9pm.

I feel this works quite well for me, its easy to remember what i'm taking and I do think I feel bit better - not like a bam amazing moment but just generally feeling not too bad.

My question is that I get my T3 on prescription from a private endo - but he thinks I am on 25mcg. What shall I do? Should I take 25mcg before the test? Or should I take 30mcg before the test? and then at the appointment, shall I tell him I am taking 30mcg a day? I feel this would help because then I can make sure he is prescribing enough for me. If I dont tell him there might come a point when I cant sustain the level I am taking, and then what do I do? Normally he prescribes me 200 x 20mcg tablets regardless of how much I'm taking, but will obviously need to see him more frequently at the higher dose, but he might not notice either or I can lose a strip here or there.

Any thoughts on this? sorry this is a bit off topic morally haha.

Or am I best to try and just source my own lio for the top ups?

Also my serum iron has come down so I'm going to take a small amount of iron bisglycinate daily and see if I can help improve my iron levels a bit, and i've started eating more liver again.

P.s Thriva couldnt test my TSH or folate. They gave me discount off my next sample as a result. I liked though that I could get serum iron tested at same time as ferritin, and the other vitamins as well as thyroid.

Just tell him the truth and that you made a small increase to the dose he prescribed and it has enabled you to feel much better.

Hi jsy_girl,

Can't help with your dilemma I'm afraid, although I think I'd be honest.

It is really nice to hear others' experiences, so please keep coming back. 😊

I agree with shaws , it’s easier to be honest & you can put together a strong argument to support your slight increase. You are monitoring your condition via blood tests & just adjusting slightly for optimal health. Best wishes!
