So my quest for answers / help continues . I have been very low and off grid for awhile. I posted here for the first time 3months ago.

Some test results here .

CRP HS 2.3 (Range 0 - 5)

Ferritin 94 (Range 13 - 150 )

Vitamin B12 116 ( Range 116 - 165)

Vitamin D 48 ( 50 - 200 )

TSH 2.17 ( Range 0.7 - 4.2 )

Free T3 ( Range 4.3 )

Free Thyroxine 13.9 ( Range 12 - 22 )

It has been established that I also have low cortisol levels , discovered my medi checks , confirmed by my GP to, but a Short SynacthenTest proved negative, so what now ? They seem dismissive of this now , saying I don't have an Adrenal problem. I want to suggest Pituitary ,??maybe but they make me feel like I'm a nuisance . Totally worn down by this .

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water

You’re not on levothyroxine are you?

Were thyroid antibodies tested too?

Who did this test

B12 result and ranges looks odd- can you check you have that correct

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking, if any

Vitamin D is insufficient

GP should prescribe 1600iu everyday for 6 months, but you might prefer to self supplement

NHS Guidelines on dose vitamin D required

ouh.nhs.uk/osteoporosis/use...

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

leedsformulary.nhs.uk/docs/...

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

mm.wirral.nhs.uk/document_u...

But improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/218...

vitamindsociety.org/pdf/Vit...

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Test twice yearly via NHS private testing service when supplementing

Morning ,

Test was done 7.30 am before any food or drink .

Medichecks Home Testing Kit.

No I'm not taking any thyroid medications.

I re -checked the Vitamin B12 level definitely reads ,B12 116 ( Range 25.1 - 165 ) .

Thyroglobulin Antibodies <10 ( Range 0 - 115 )

Thyroid Peroxide Antibodies <9 ( Range 0 -34 )

No , I have never had a coeliac test done.

My appetite is very poor at the moment , part of the many symptoms, I do take multivitamins every day, have done for along time.

Will discuss the vitamin D with him before self supplementing, he informed me all was normal.

When I saw the Free Thyroxine( T4 ??) level , I didnt pay much attention, but then after seeing another post by someone I realised it's very low ... does this indicate a problem. In your opinion.. ??

I thankyou for your advice. 😊

Possibly

But with low TSH and negative thyroid antibodies you would really struggle to get levothyroxine prescribed

Adrenals try to compensate for lack of thyroid hormones, initially this tends to cause high cortisol, eventually adrenals burnout and cortisol drops

Getting vitamin D improved by supplementing first step

Trialing strictly gluten free diet next

Again Thankyou. Will consider all advice . Looks like gluten free is going to be the next step.

I will definitely be retesting in a couple of months time, out of interest . At least I now have some information to go forward with. Better than before.

🙂

As you have Rheumatoid arthritis this is autoimmune

Having one autoimmune disease makes others more likely

As you have gut issues, have you had coeliac blood test done yet

Once that’s been tested just to rule it out, trialing strictly gluten free diet may help improve gut issues
