My labs results came, the endo suggests

to increase my vitamin D, take calcium due to osteopenia, bone scan result.I understand taking magnesium helps with sleep disorder.

I am taking soft gel vitamins d3,25mcg(1000 iu)plus a combo pill of calcium, magnesium & zinc which contains vitamin d3 600 IU, calcium 1000mg, magnesium 400mg& zinc 15 mg.

I will increase my intake of vitamin D3 to 2 capsules to 2000 IU.

Which form of magnesium and calcium should I take, & how much?

I am a petite female senior of Asian decent, in USA

Thanks

Calcium Magnesium Citrate tablets are good. Most forms of magnesium are OK but not oxide or hydroxide as they are poorly absorbed.

Magnesium is something you have to decide for yourself depending on what your needs are. Here are a couple of articles which describes what each form of magnesium is best for, have a look through and see which is most suitable for you:

a combo pill of calcium, magnesium & zinc which contains vitamin d3 600 IU, calcium 1000mg, magnesium 400mg& zinc 15 mg.

Calcium/Zinc/Magnesium shouldn't be taken at the same time. See slide 6:

Your dose of Vit D depends on your result, what is your current level?

When takind Vit D we need Vit K2-MK7 which is an important codactor. D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and Vit K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.
