Thyroid newbie and body temp question

Hello

I am 47 and have been struggling for around 6 years with what I was told was raynaulds

My primary symptoms - very cold hands and feet plus lots of tingling / numbness in them too

I was sent to the rheumatologists to check if it was related to a autoimmune issue but nothing positive came back really although I’m still ‘on their books’ for check ups

More recently I started questioning diagnosis of raynaulds. I have it all the time with numbness too and I’ve been really dizzy also

So I went to see a functional? Doctor near where I live. He asked me to monitor my body temp and also ran full bloods

My body temp fluctuated around low 35 to low 36C sometimes lower if I’d been out in the cold (33.8 was the lowest I recorded )

Bloods of interest were

Cortisol high 563 nmol/ L

TSH was 3.24 mIU/L

T4 70.5 nmol/L

FT4 13.7 pmol/L

The doc said my tsh was high and t4 low so suggested matavive 3 bovine

I’ve been taking now 4 capsules a day for a few months ( plus b12 plus iron vit D vit E)

Initially my hands seemed to improve loads and I thought I had found the answer but they are back to their old tricks of cold and tingling / burning sensation

My body temp is up now more regularly in low 36c but still drops lower to high 34

/ low 35c when I’ve been outdoors in the cold

I think my doc will want to increase the metavive but after some more blood tests

I’d really value any thoughts or advice re body temp and potentially associated cold hands and feet etc related to thyroid issues

I’m also a little nervous of taking more metavive - not sure why but just that this is all rather new to me

Any help much appreciated

Warm regards

Hello again

Just bumping this in the quest for the thoughts and experience of those more knowledgeable in this helpful group

I spoke to my GP yesterday for the 1st time about my thyroid (so far I’ve seen a private doc and been taking metavive 3)

He told me that my bloods were normal and I should stop taking the dedicated thyroid and then come in for a blood test is 2 weeks to reconfirm my normal bloods

I’m reluctant to stop tbh as I’ve been on the dedicated since jan

He also dismissed my body temp of 35 and sometimes lower (33.8 c was lowest I measured) as completely normal.

Now on 4 metavive 3s tablets a day and body temp has risen somewhat but only to max of low 36s and still drops fast when I’m outdoors

Id love to hear others views on the idea that I should keep slowly increasing my desiccated thyroid til my body temp is regularly mid 36c

Bit concerned that my GP will just dismiss this thyroid issue as my bloods are in range

Cortisol high 563 nmol/ L

TSH was 3.24 mIU/L

T4 70.5 nmol/L

FT4 13.7 pmol/L

VitD 57.7 pmol/L

B12 409 pmol /L

Ferritin 178 ug /L

Any help and advice much appreciated as I’m getting a bit down about the whole thing. Do I trust my gp or stay self medicating is my dilemma

My main symptoms have been super cold numb hands and feet and dizziness but not much else

Many thanks in advance
