I raised to 135 mg. But did stay very tired in the morning. No weightloss. Brainfog etc.
I did read i could take coffee with ndt. I was taking ndt with coffee but i stopped to test if i would feel better.
I have now a heart rate resting of 100 or more. Sometimes lower so not all day. Also stress feeling in my jaws. Could this be the coffee?feels like hyper. Not sure. Can coffee make the ndt absorption worse?
I did lower with 15 mg. Do i now have to wait 6 weeks before testing? Or can i count from my first time raising with 30 mg.
Can coffee make my ndt work less?

I'm not aware of any research specifically on desiccated thyroid and absorption in the presence of coffee. Even research on levothyroxine and coffee is rarely clear on details of the coffee consume (white or black?, with sugar, with a sweetener or unsweetened?, amount of coffee - such as grams of ground coffee used?, technique of making such as espresso or filter?)
But I'd consider it possible coffee could make quite a difference.
I take my NDT on an empty stomach with a full glass of water and wait an hour before eating or drinking anything.
I only increase/ decrease by 1/4 grains and wait a 7-10 days and see how you feel feel with each adjustment before you change your dose again.
Your symptoms sound horrible - in the first instance stop the coffee and see how you go :
Looking at that blood test result there was room to increase the NDT - and maybe you have increased the dose a little too much, too soon ?
Were you drinking he same coffee then ?
With NDT you dose to the relief of symptoms and not a blood test result.
Though fully understand if you are under the care of a doctor they may well be using the ranges and guidelines that were introduced to be used with synthetic medications.
NDT is a very slow build compared to supplementing T3 with T4 : and I found my symptoms continued to reduce long past my best dose on NDT and these included brain fog and weight.
I first rised with 15 mg still not feel good. Then 10 days later again 15 mg. But i felt so tired in the morning. Then i waited in the morning to drink my coffee. So on empty stomach took ndt i did this nit before. Then my heart did go high. So i dont like this feeling. I just so strange to me that coffee can have this affect. I did read that with ndt it was not a problem. Any way i also feel awake in the morning wich i very happy with.
looking back at your history you have been having heart issues for over three years so it seems these symptoms are not new to you ?
I don't know what else to say, other than increase very slowly and monitor yourself by temperature by blood pressure - i found this is most reliable method for NDT -
I saw my temperature rise from around 35.4 to 36.6 and my blood pressure remained stable throughout.
No it not caffeine withdrawal. I do take coffee but i just wait 45 minutes after my morning medication. At the same time i was 2 weeks on a 15 mg upping dosage. I have the feeling that without coffee my medication is absorpt better and that is why i feel my heart rate going up. But i a not sure.
I take NDT with water, I am one of those who was fortunate enough to be prescribed ndt when diagnosed but that was sixty years ago. I do remember the instructions at some point said to swallow whole with water. Can’t remember when that was but years and years ago.
