Pre-Hashimoto's?

Hi

This is a follow on to my previous post.

My previous results were:

TSH Receptor antibodies 3 (0-2.9)

Anti nuclear factor: homogenous titre 1:1.16 (positive)

Serum Rheumatoid antigen 9.2 (0-15)

Serum free T3 4.8 (3.5-6.5)

Serum free T4 11.9 (10-20)

Serum TSH 1.54 (0.35-4.78)

Thyroid peroxidase 10 (0-50)

I've just had these re-tested plus the suggested vitamins.

These are the new results so far:

Vitamin D 59 (76-250)

Calcium 2.37 (2.2-2.6)

Vitamin B12 886 (200-900)

Foliate 17.8 (2-17)

Bilirubin 36 (0-20)

Also a little low is my eGFR (kidneys)

Will report back when I have further tests.

I wondered if you had any comments especially in relation to the Vit D and Bilirubin...would you expect to see this with Hashimoto's?

Doctor is still saying he can't see any relevance to a Hashimoto's diagnosis even with symptoms of aching hands and feet, body aches, constantly cold/shivery etc and sore thyroid with two nodules (one U4).

Thanks

Sarah

Ft4 is very low

You also need thyroglobulin antibodies tested. NHS won’t test as your TPO are within range

So will need to test privately

Vitamin D is too low.

Common with Hashimoto’s

Needs improving to at least 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better

You need Ferritin tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Low GFR probably linked to being hypothyroid

High bilirubin is called Gilbert’s syndrome......not likely relevant to Hashimoto’s

Hi again I've been monitoring my heart rate at rest as it feels like it is racing all the time, especially in the morning and it us between 95 and 99 most of the time. Is this significant for hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's? Thanks

Do you wear a Fitbit or equivalent to record resting heart rate

Can be extremely helpful for discussion with GP

High heart rate can be hypothyroidism ......medics tend to think it’s only hyperthyroid

If heart is struggling to manage on low thyroid hormones, it speeds up

No not a fitbit, I have a blood pressure monitor which also measures pulse.

Suggest you get one.....records heart rate when at rest/sleeping

And importantly gives printable records for medics

How interesting......raised bilirubin linked to low thyroid levels

healthunlocked.com/britishl...

(My mother always had high bilirubin.....I have long suspected she was undiagnosed hashimoto’s)

It would be interesting to know the source of Sheila's statement, I followed some of the other comments on Sheila's post that led me to an article linking it to Hyperthyroidism rather than hypothyroidism
