Thyroid results

If anyone could give me some insight into these blood test results, I would be very thankful.

pB TSH * 14.73 mU/L

[ 0.30 - 4.20 ] * high

pB Free T4 * 11.5 pmol/L [ 12.0 - 22.0 ] * low

I currently taking Metavive 11 - on 2 tabs per day.

Previously I was on Thyroid S 2 tabs and was okay.

Unfortunately my T3 wasn’t measured.

Many thanks in advance.

When did you take your last dose of Metavive before the test?

How do you feel?

As you're self medicating, and if your GP can't do FT3, why aren't you doing private tests to include FT3? Essential when on Metavive, NDT or a combination of Levo and T3. Were you doing them when on Thyroid-S?

Thank you Seaside Susie,I took my last dose at 8 am and my test was at 2 pm - I don't think i ate much in between - but I forgot all about the protocol of not taking it before testing.

I do have a lot of stiffening in particular muscles which causes tremor and this is happening more than usual at the moment. But not feeling tired in the evening if anything I thought i was being overmedicated because of the level of my energy.

The royal free hospital test used to include T3 but for some reason they have stopped that now. No I was not using Metavive when on Thyroid S. I did try Tru thyroid but found it horrendous on my stomach.

Do you think I should increase my dosage with these results or continue as i am and take tests again?

I'm thinking that your results are showing that Metavive isn't doing anything for you.

I see you maybe right. But I know before I was diagnosed and times when I do not take them my TSH is over 100 - do you not think if I increase it will not make a difference. I am not sure what to do next - there’s no sign of Thyroid S yet - is flat right? I really appreciate your feedback Seaside

You can but try, some people do well on Metavive, some don't, it's all a case of experiment and see if it suits you and if so what dose you need.

I only know what other people are saying and it doesn't seemt o be freely available yet. It would seem that some people are contacting the producers themselves and are being allowed to purchase one bottle. I have no idea how to contact them, maybe if you have an old bottle the details are on there, otherwise an internet search might prove useful.

As you have Hashimoto’s it’s essential to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

If/when also on T3, or NDT or Metavive make sure to take last third or quarter of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Thank you Slow Dragon - for all those updates - I certainly need to get my vitamins in and get the tests which covers them all.Do you think my last test has been made redundant because i didn't follow protocol. I will get a more full tests using private testing
