I was on the following for 5 weeks before the test then stopped for a week before testing:
Evening primrose oil - 1000mg
Vit D3 - 1000iu
Vit K2 Mk7 - 100mcg
Magnesium Citrate - 200mg
Folic acid - 400ug
Probiotics
Omega-3
The medichecks dr says these are fantastic thyroid results and don’t explain my symptoms (brain fog, fatigue, pulsing tinnitus etc) though does say my B12 needs further investigation.
Interesting for me to see the Vit D hasn’t changed really - perhaps too soon though.
Previous results are below:
May 2020
CRP HS - 3.3 mg/L (<5)
Ferritin - 101 ug/L (13-150)
Serum Folate - 5.81 ug/L (>3.89)
Active B12 - 62.2 pmol/L (>37.5)
Vit D - 84.5 nmol/L (50-175)
TSH - 3.61 mIU/L (0.27-4.2)
FT3 - 4.38 pmol/L (3.1-6.8)
FT4 - 15.4 pmol/L (12-22)
TgAb - 162kIU/L (<115)
TPO - <9 (<34)
Have to be honest, I’ve questioned my sanity a few times. Being told results are fine but I honestly feel pants. Will be getting the MMA privately when I can afford too. Hoping the GP can offer up some useful advice though when I speak to them tomorrow.

I don't think this doctor would think those results were so good if they were his! Honestly, it's really not worth going for those doctor comments, because they're only ordinary NHS GPs, not thyroid experts.
Your TSH is too high - still hypo, in fact. Which means that although your FT4/3 aren't desperately low, your thyroid is really struggling to keep them at that level. And, something doctors just don't understand, whilst your FT4/3 might look euthyroid, hypos actually need their levels higher than euthyroid levels, to be well. And, the question is: how much longer can your thyroid go on struggling like that? I doubt if your GP can answer that.
The appointment went fairly well in honesty. I saw the GP who originally referred me to ENT for a goitre in Feb. She was surprised that this has been left untreated for so long (I said me too!)
She’s very much of the opinion to treat symptoms and not bloods - hoorah. So she’s booked me in for further bloods to investigate The cause of my low B12 and she wants to see me in person (This was a phone consultation) before we look at treatment options for thyroid.
Aw that's brilliant news. You must be so pleased and relieved. I'm due my thyroid bloods when my gp is back to normal again. I came across a letter from rheumatology in 2018 requesting 6 monthly thyroid checks because of my high antibodies but forgot all about it. So will need to chase it up.
I’m trying to be realistic that it doesn’t mean much until I’m having treatment and actually improving but I’m relieved that she’s listening to my concerns.
If you’re feeling rough, most GPs are still doing bloods so definitely don’t wait if you feel it needs investigation.
