I would like someone to advise on my dads results please. He is waiting to see an endocrinologist for further tests on vitamins etc but for now I have these results:
T4 16.7 (11-22.6)
T3 5 ( 3.50-6.50)
Tsh 0.04 (0.20-4.00)
I have used the conversion calculator and t4/t3 are about the same 49/50% do these numbers need to be higher?
He is currently talking 200mcg levo.
Many thanks in advance

Most Hypo patients on Levo feel best when TSH is 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges.
His FT4 and FT3 are nicely balanced but if he is experiencing symptoms they are probably too low in range for him.
Does he take his Levo on an empty stomach? One hour before or two hours after food? With water only (no tea, coffee, milk, etc?) and water only for one hour either side? Does he take his Levo 2 hours away from any other medication and supplements (some need 4 hours)?
What vitamins are being tested? For thyroid hormone to work properly we need optimal levels of Vit D, B12, Folate Ferritin.
It’s difficult to know as he has sleep apnea and low testosterone, of which he had a shot for today. I’m thinking his thyroid is, like you say ‘nicely balanced’.
I will advise him on the tests he needs and make sure he is taking all his meds correctly.
