I have just removed two ticks, two others broke off and the mouth part remains stuck in me. I have seen things on here before about ticks in relation to thyroid, but have never read them because I’ve never had one attached before.
I presume I need to see a nurse to get the remains removed? Will it be likely to affect my thyroid please if I get Lyme disease?
Thank you for any help you’re able to give.

See your doctor promptly. You need antibiotics in case the tick was carrying Lyme's disease. Lyme disease causes serious health problems, but is fixed if antibiotics are given early enough.
Thank you. Am waiting for GP to ring me back. They aren’t keen on prescribing antibiotics but I’ll have a go! Is there any particular type I need please?
Don’t leave the surgery without antibiotics - GPs can prescribe them if you’ve been bitten by a tick, but you may have to fight for them like I did for my daughter.

I’ve been offered a blood test if I develop symptoms and my gps put it on the screen in case. Do you think it’s a good idea to have a test even if I don’t develop symptoms?
Is the link of Lyme disease and thyroid that they have similar symptoms and often you get misdiagnosed?
I’m intrigued to know as I grew up in fields and round animals and am surprised I’ve never been aware of a tick bite. I understand Lymes stays in your system as a positive blood test forever?
