Can anyone help me with this blood work, I'm think I may be reading it wrong.
My Tg IMA is : 0.23 (SEE Chart below for references) I have no thyroid and at the time of this test my TSH was 1.47 ....currently 8 weeks later my TSH is 0.633 (same dose 100 synthyroid and 10mcg cytomel )
Tested early AM no meds or foods prior.
TG References:
Normal Thyroid (Tg) [ 3-40ng/ml ] ......... ...........................TSH (0.3 -4.0mlU/L)
Normal Thyroid, suppressed TSH (Tg) [1.5 - 20]................TSH (<0.1)
Post Lobectomy, normal TSH (Tg) [1.5 - 20]........................TSH (0.3 - 4.0)
Is my Tg slightly elevated or is it normal for my 1.47 (TSH) without a thyroid can I actually be considered having a normal thyroid ...I'm not sure what I'm seeing !

I found out yesterday that my intern Endo met with the nuclear medicine doctor who originally said I had recurrence with spreading to lymph nodes based on scan. Together they decided my scan is wrong and my blood test is more reliable and told me I don't have recurrence and need no further follow-ups.
I requested 2nd opinion since in 2 weeks I went from you have thyroid cancer again to Im free of cancer and for good measures no follow-ups needed.....he was not happy actually pretty annoyed with my request.
I’ve had papillary thyroid cancer too, and I’m really sorry you’re having to go through this.
But that thyroglobulin (TG) number is actually really good. Undetectable levels are ideal, but anything below 1.0 means that your chances of recurrence are very low. I read in your previous post that you had a recurrence scare recently. But as long as your TG remains low, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
If you want your doctor to investigate further, you could ask them to check your TG antibodies. Apparently in some patients antibodies can attack the TG in the body and make it seem a bit lower than it really is. But it isn’t a standard test, because TG alone is still the best marker for evaluating thyroid cancer and chance of recurrence.
Based on everything I know about thyroid cancer, this number indicates good health (cancer-wise) and therefore good news.
I had thyroglobin and thyroglobin antibodies tested and these tested normal always even with thyroid cancer they never tested elevated and my biggest concern with these labs is my immunosuppressive drugs I take and how this drug tends to make labs wonky.
I just don't trust these people anymore not just because of this but for 3 yrs of bad care.
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all hanging on in there. Any advice on what our Thyroid Ranges should be. All my Endo and GP keep saying they are in range, but I still feel very ill, also had my T4 Levothyroxine increased and my T3 Liothyronine decreased two weeks ago. HELP please, I am still so symptomatic and my meds keep being adjusted in the hope they will find my sweet spot, but 9 years down the line and still cant get me well. I at last have managed to get a referral from my Endo consultant to be seen by Tertiary care, being seen by Professor Trainer at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, he only specialise in Endo.
Merry Xmas
Kind regards
Take care
