How are you feeling? Do you have any symptoms?

As you are taking NDT you should have taken the last dose 8-12hours before the blood test. Leaving 24hours will give a false low FT3, I think the guideline is to extrapolate your FT3 result by 20% to give a truer result if you left a 24hr gap. Which probably means that your FT3 is actually over range.

Is the FT4 range correct? I’ve not seen that range before. If it is correct then you are probably overmedicated as FT4 is generally lower in range when taking NDT.

Thanks so much - yes the new ranges for T4 came in May 2018 apparently..

So I'm over medicated on the NDT then - both T3 and T4?

Have the occasional headaches & a 4 lbs weight gain (fat went from 23% to 27% in 3 months!) but no other symptoms so thought I was finally optimal!

Had really bad Hypo & Adrenal symptoms 2013 to 2016 after Pituitary tumour removed in 2012..

Is high T4 & T3 bad for my heart then?

TIA

It is unusual to gain weight with high FT3, I think this is probably due to RT3.

When you have high FT4 your body will convert some to Reverse T3 to protect against over stimulation.

It might be worth retesting along with RT3, but this time take your last dose of NDT 8 hours before. Alternatively drop your dose by 1/2 grain and retest in 6-8 weeks.

Many thanks - they (GP & Endo) won't test RT3 as I've asked before 😈 think I'll lower to 2.5 as u suggest & retest in 6 wks.

😊
