Currently on 50mcg levo. These results are after being on levo for 7 weeks. (Was on NDT for a couple of months prior to this) I have very few symptoms, feel really well apart from being really tired for a short while in the afternoon, occasionally in the evening and not feeling refreshed when I wake up - I'd like to be able to get up earlier)
Stopped all supplements 2 or 3 weeks ago but have started taking Adenosylcobalamin (4 days so far) form of B12 as it's recommended for energy
TSH 1.57 (0.27-4.2)
Free T3 4.21 (3.1-6.8)
Free thyroxine 16 (12-22)
Ferritin 99.7 (13-150)
Serum folate >19.8 (>3.89)
Active B12 156 (37.5-188)

These are all good. Taking B12 will take your Active B12 level over range, and it is already near the top of the range so really you are wasting money. Taking a B Complex will maintain your B12 and your folate level.
Did you not have Vit D tested? That is important too. If not tested then it's recommended and you can do a fingerprick blood spot test for £29 with an NHS lab which offers this test to the general public:
These could be improved. When on Levo only, the aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or lower with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their ranges if that is where you feel well. Your FT4 is only 40% through range, your FT3 is only 30% through range. I think this is why you are tired in the afternoon. I think increasing your Levo is what you need rather than Adenosylcobalamin.
Thanks for that. I was previously taking methyl B compound, I decided to stop for a while with B12 being over range. I'll stop taking Adenosylcobalamin and get an increased dose of levo. Wasn't sure if my TSH needed to be still lower as I feel well overall though generally people who are hypo need it to be lower.
Doctor picked up hypothyroidism after doing a healthcheck when I was 70. He didn't prescribe anything as TSH was 8.7 I was slightly concerned about possibility of heart problems so saw a different doctor who put me on 25 mcg levo but she didn't ask me to come back anytime for further blood tests and as I felt well I wasn't convinced I needed medication. I intended to keep an eye on my TSH though and it kept rising. As I was less than impressed with the doctors and wasn't confident they would treat me appropriately I had a private consultation and was prescribed NDT. Once I started taking it however I thought I ought to give levo a proper trial. I saw a nurse practitioner who prescribed 50 mcg levo based on my previous NHS results.
Lots of us are really well on Levo so yes, well worth giving it a go. Having read lots of posts on here though quite often it's not the Levo that's the problem as some are left on too low a dose or aren't converting well so I'm hoping you have been told to return after 6 weeks to be retested. It takes a full 6 weeks to get each new dose fully into your system so if you are still low then you may well need another. We are around the same age though I have a new milestone next week but it looks like you have already taken that on board. SeasideSusie is brilliant with vits etc so glad she has spoken to you about that. Always get into the habit though in asking for your test results as useful to plot your progress as well as to add on any of your own thoughts and feelings plus what dose you were on if it doesn't already say that.
Thank you. I always get copies of results. The test I had from Medichecks didn't include vitamin D so I'll arrange to have that done. I'm going to make an appointment re: increasing levo but as my doctor didn't even start me on meds and another one didn't ask me to go back at all rhe first time I had levo, I think I'll have a fight on my hands.
