I have the same old story. Hashimotos antibodies in a Thyroid globulin serum test. Also my DI01 test result is that I have a genetic fault in the enzyme to convert T4 to T3 in the tissues. Hence why my serum tests had all "NHS in range" results. NNUH endo refused to diagnose me with Hashimotos this week. She also refused to scan my thyroid for goitres, nodules, function etc. She will only offer the standard GP serum cortisol test.... utter rubbish. She didn't care about my lab results from regenerus labs (all via Thyroid UK website)for genetic T3 conversion problems or my private lab tests with medichecks showing Hashimotos antibodies or my endless signs and symptoms or even being unconscious for 9 hours for no reason resulting in misdiagnosis and being sectioned as was incoherent! Released 3 days later after sleep with no mental health illness or mental health problems! This resulted in my 7 year old son being put in car as I was unconscious in the car despite clear breatherliser tests and drug tests etc. Had a 7 month court case and judge was furious with Norfolk county council who returned my son. Nevertheless the NHS misdiagnosis are still causing enormous strain on my health and risking my life and that of my sons. So anyone out there with a fab private endo please message me as need T3 prescription as NHS endo refused to do T3 urine test. I am ordering it today! This forum and Thyroid UK is how I have learnt about Thyroid and tests etc and is the dogs n...s (you know what's! Amazeballs!) Thank you kindly to Thyroid UK you deserve a novel prize! British government you need to stop the unnecessary early deaths of mainly women Thyroid suffers who are mostly undiagnosed except with endless signs and symptoms but never the cause - Thyroid and adrenals (DHEA, cortisol etc, pregnenolone etc).

sea did you get anywhere with this?

I have just been diagnosed hyperthyroid and have already come up against it with the endo I am booked to see at NNUH. Have decided to go private but there is no one in Norfolk.

I don't know of anyone private in norfolk but lost the word or in the forum and the other forums out there. Dr Barry Drrant Peatfield one of trustees of Thyroid uk and write book in Thyroid Uk shop. Very good but because he spoke out about NHS Thyroid scandal in UK they struck him off! he is lovely at his Crawley south London office but I would find someone who is register to be able to prescribe meds needed if necessary you will still have to pay for labs any which way so get full panel on medichecks that I messaged you about and urine tests T4/T3 etc all linked on Thyroid Uk web site...you can start off like I did as graves and hyperthyroid and they get fat and hypothyroid. I was 6 stone when I was 21! NOw 14 stone.

I here that NHS NNUH Thyroid dept is rubbish but everyone has a different experience so worth trying. Find out who heads dept. Try that... I am putting word out for NHS endo who is prescribing T3 as I have conversion probs and need prescription even if I just access consulantcybguidance and prescription and purchase in India as have scuba friends travelling

Let me know if you find anyone decent private doesn't necessarily mean good. If you find a good one let me know please please. I will do the same but will just be recommended on forums.
