Advice on WP Throid please

Are any members currently taking or have previously taken WP throid ? I am currently self medicating with 2x 1grain of Armour and I feel so much better than when I was taking levo only, my problem is simply struggling to afford the armour as its £92 and I see WP throid is much cheaper at £62 , im just needing some advice as obviously if I could afford to stay on armour i would but unfortunately from January i think il struggle to find the money , any feedback on WP Throid would be really appreciated many thanks

Thankyou i appreciate your advice but i ordered WP 30 mins ago 100 tablets 1 grain im hoping it will be ok I know about the changes but this month I simply can't afford armour so i have no choice as my GP will only prescribe levo only im only planning on using WP for 4 weeks and fully intend to go back to armour. It's wrong we are forced to self medicate because our doctors and pharmaceutical companies want us to be ill to make money , that's how it seems to me anyway .

I had ordered a batch of Nature throid in the Summer and have become unwell on it. Ordered sigmapharm T3 instead but struggling to get dose right. Still have hypo symptoms but getting chronic headaches. All so tedious and depressing!

Hi thankyou for your reply with the risk of sounding silly is the naturethroid the same as WP ? I tried naturethroid a year ago it didn't make me unwell but it didnt do for me what armour did for me i read several positive remarks about WP but mostly negative for naturethroid so i assumed they were different i think iv just wasted £60 to be honest I'm worried sick

WP is very hard to get hold off. I made enquiries to all the pharmacies that are listed as stocking WP, and none of them had it in stock or only had a ¼ grain. WP is made by the RLC Labs, the same ones that make Nature Throid. However, WP has less fillers compared to Nature Throid.

Some people changed over to NP, but this is also very hard to get hold off.

Nature Throid was changed back in the Summer of 2017.

IMPORTANT FROM JANIE: Sadly, since I posted the below, there have been a large and growing body of patients who have found that the “new” Naturethroid (in the same amount that once removed their hypothyroid symptoms) has left them with with major symptoms, plus free T3 and free T4 very low in the range and a high TSH. Those who have tried raising state it has done nothing to return them to their former state.

There are a very few who report feeling fine…but, we notice that the longer someone is on the new Naturethroid, the more the hypo symptoms creep up. i.e. it can be the adrenaline being released that fools people into feeling better…until they crash. Just an FYI.

I myself only started Nature Throid back in the Summer this year. Although I did well to start with - probably due to getting the much needed T3 - I did start to notice a return of symptoms as I gradually increased the dosage to find my optimal level.

I am in currently in the process of trying the TR Man.

P.S - Not sure about other NDT's, but Nature Throid price has also gone up. Where you could once purchase a bottle of one grain for £40.00 with Delivery, you now look at £65.00.

Nothing like making money out of other peoples misery 😔

Hiya thats interesting to read , however I have no trouble at all from purchasing WP in fact I bought it last night from the same US pharmacy I use to buy my armour from , for 100 tablets WP 1 grain its £62 and I have confirmation they are being shipped today it usually takes 8 / 10 days to arrive , it only comes in 1 grain strength and it is a temporary measure as I simply couldn't afford armour this month and was desperate for a good alternative , but yes if anyone is struggling to find a supplier for WP or naturethroid or armour please PM me for details thanks

Hiya,

I was talking 2 grains every day of WP Thyroid until RLC stopped manufacture last year. I was on Armour 1.75 grains from the cancer hospital because it was part of my thyroid cancer treatment but it was withdrawn on cost so, I bought my own WP because it was cheaper. I couldn't afford Armour because I'd lost my job to the cancer. WP was much cheaper before it was stopped last year and I felt ok on it but not as good as when I was on Armour. I've just looked online at the supplier I bought WP from and it has gone up in price by over 400%. I could buy 30 x 2 grain tablets for less than £15.00, then with US postage on top it was less than £30.00. I cannot remember the price for 100 tablets but they were still cheaper than Armour and all the other brands. The new 1 grain tablets is very expensive when you factor in the US postage plus the customs charge it will incur when it goes through UK customs. I reckon it will cost just over £100.00 if I bought them now and, they would only last 50 days!

Bless you, yes it is very expensive i paid £62 for 100 tablets 1 grain WP and £11 shipping from the U.S and customs is £17 it's a temporary fix as this month I simply can't afford armour which is £98 for 100 tablets 1 grain then £11 shipping and an extortionate £23.80 customs , 100 tablets last me 6 / 7 weeks, im hoping WP dont make me ill iv heard mainly good reviews so fingers crossed, thankyou for your advice its much appreciated x
