WP not for me

This is just an update following my query in December asking advice and feedback on the next best thing to armour as I couldn't afford it over the Xmas period unfortunately.... I went with WP throid to be honest iv heard many people are fine with this particular NDT unfortunately im back to how I felt when I was taking 100mcg levo only , I wake at 6am and by 10am im literally struggling to keep my eyes open iv done zero housework for 3 weeks and I tie my hair up so i dont have to wash it and deal with the knots as that's far too energetic, I feel like poo , I'm a slug again , but thankful im not suicidal on it like I felt when I was on levo , so i guess WP isnt for me , shame as its £45 cheaper than armour, I can't go on like this its debilitating, so iv just ordered my 90 capsules of armour , god only knows how im going to carry on paying for it every month but il sell everything I have if I have to , it makes me feel human again and at the moment I'm even struggling to walk , crazy how it works for some and not others

What dose of WP were you taking? Did you take one daily dose with one full glass of water and wait an hour before eating?

When starting NDT, you start on a dose equivalent, more or less, on what you took in levo. Then, keeping note of your clinical symptoms, increase by 1/4 tablet every two weeks until you are symptom-free. If your pulse/temp increases too much, drop to previous dose and that should be your optimum dose. If symptoms return, another increase may be due.

Hi I have been taking armour for about 6 months it changed my life completely i still had a way to go but felt human again , I took EXACT same dose of WP admittedly I took 3 for the first 3 days then went back down to 2 x 1 grain exactly like my dose of armour but im 2 weeks in and feel rotten , I always take my NDT immediately upon waking at 6am with a huge glass of water and I dont eat for at least 2 hours as I'm never hungry until around 8.30 am , iv done everything the same Vit D3, Vit B complex, omega 3 , coconut oil capsule , Magnesium , turmeric capsules, probiotic, nothing different in what I take but I have lost my energy completely, my nails are literally snapping off , my skin has become scaly , and flakes , just like it did on levo , I have aches and pains and struggle to walk i won't lie iv been in my nightgown for 3 days, gosh im ashamed but its true , I feel like a lazy slug again , awful

New here. What is WP?

It's NDT natural desicated thyroid meds as opposed to levothyroxine as I have problems converting to T3 so WP is a combination of 38mcg T4 and 9 mcg T3 but it isn't working well for me so im going back to my original brand called armour hope that helps

May be a stupid question - and please don't shout at me if it is :( - but did you try increasing your dose when you started WP thyroid?

Shout at you are you serious lol your my idol i follow your every comment trust me you inspire me , yes I did I took 3 x 1 grain for 3 days then dropped it to 2 x 1 grain and have been on that for 2 weeks actually its nearly 3 weeks and I get headaches now and i didn't have that on armour .

But, you reduced your dose, you didn't increase it. And, it was rather a large drop. You should only decrease by 1/4 grain every two weeks, same as increasing. Perhaps you could try slowly increasing the dose again?

Thank you so much for the compliments. I'm blushing. :D

Thankyou ahhh I see , I was actually surprised it didn't appear to suit me as I thought it was a tried and tested type of NDT , I will try increasing tomorrow by a quarter grain for 2 weeks as my armour will be here in 10 days so il finish the WP and as for the compliment its true , your a star and a wealth of information, thankyou .

So sorry.... I hate abbreviations so I am finding this difficult to understand...and what is armour.

If I use abbreviations I put the word in brackets in 1st use instance to make it easier for people to understand 😊😊😊

I hope you have got further ahead in sorting out the medication you need....good luck in getting it sorted 😊😊😊

Hiya armour is an NDT natural desicated thyroid and is a combination of T4 and T3 38mcg T4 and 9mcg of T3 it works well for me along with my vitamin supplements and L glutamine for my digestive issues , different brands work different for everyone hope that helps
