Help with results...What's going on?!

Hi!

2 months ago I wrote a post asking for help with my results. It was:

TSH 3.71mIU/L ( 0.55-4.78 mIU/L).

T4 0.91 ng/dL (0.8- 1.9ng/DL)
T3 Unknow . // Previous test was 2.92 pg/ML ( 2.28-4.23 pgML )

TgAB 13,1 UI/mL ( <4 )
TPO 1.204,1 UI/mL (<6)

After your suggestions (my endo told me to increase my levo if I wanted) I increased my dose from 100 Eutirox to 112 and I started a very strict AIP diet.

Funny enough, I didn't feel that good and my stomach was very upset. So I went to a gastroenterologist. I’m gonna test lactose, fructose, and sorbitol intolerance in the following weeks and got some blood tests already. I found the results very disturbing. I’m a little bit scared and Waiting for the doctor’s reply, but I would like to know your opinion. Can't wait until the 13th of December. I'm concerned...

It has been only 2 months since my last test. Not even at my worst at the beginning, my TSH had never been that high. Now it’s:

T4 Free 1.15 ng/dl (0.93 - 1.7)

TSH 8.06 μUI/ml (0.27 - 4.20) *

( As it comes from the gastro, didn’t order for T3 or Antibodies )

Then my enzymes:

TRANSAMINASE GOT (AST) 34 U/L (Inf. 32) *

TRANSAMINASE GPT (ALT) 58 U/L (Inf. 33) *

FOSFATASA ALCALINA 100 U/L (35 - 105)

GGT 76 U/L (Inf. 40) *

AMILASA 60 UI/l (30 - 118)

LIPASE 38 U/L (13 - 60)

Serum protein:

ALBUMINA EN SUERO N 64.80 % (55.8 - 66.1)

Albúmina, proteinogram, concentración 4.72 g/dl (3.88 - 4.59) *

ALFA-1 GLOBULINAS N 4.90 % (2.9 - 4.9)

Alfa-1-globulins, concentración 0.36 g/dl (0.20 - 0.34) *

ALFA-2 GLOBULINAS N 7.30 % (7.1 - 11.8)

Alfa-2 globulins, concentración 0.53 g/dl (0.49 - 0.82)

BETA GLOBULINAS NOU 7.90 % (8.4 - 13.1) *

Beta globulins, concentración 0.58 g/dl (0.58 - 0.91)

GAMMA GLOBULINAS N 15.10 % (11.1 - 18.8)

Gamma globulins, concentración 1.10 g/dl (0.77 - 1.31)

COCIENTE ALBUMINA/GLOBULINA 1.84

Other alterations that came out:

ACID FOLIC 2.58 ng/ml (4.6 - 18.7) *

VITAMIN B12 562 pg/ml (197 - 771) ( this is ok )

SODIUM 147 mmol/l (137 - 145) *

POTASIUM 4.8 mmol/l (3.5 - 5.1) ( this is ok )

VITAMINA D 25 HIDROXI SUERO 32.5 ng/ml (20 - 50) Institute of Medicine (IOM) ( its ok )

Confirmed: I’m not celiac.

I’ve been on a strict AIP diet anyway. I take reishi mushrooms to improve antibodies. I take selenium and zinc as well, Better you Vit D as you suggested me ( much better, I love it! ) I’m taking Eutirox at night since August. Should I change it back to morning?

I don’t know what’s going on with me, I don’t understand!

Also, I was more symptomatic back on May, even being inside the range, and now I’m feeling ok, I’m not that tired or bloated or cranky, and my results are at my worst. And what is this liver thing? I had an echography, the organs looked good . Only the observed the spleen is a little bit big, being the range from 6 to 14, mine is 12.

Am I not absorbing well nutrients? Levo included?

Some wisdom and light, please? Haha

Did anybody experience this? It's normal for Hashis to struggle with the liver?

Thanks for reading!!

xx

The following tests relate to liver health - three of the four are over the range and the alkaline phosphatase is very close to the top of the range :

TRANSAMINASE GOT (AST) 34 U/L (Inf. 32) *

TRANSAMINASE GPT (ALT) 58 U/L (Inf. 33) *

FOSFATASA ALCALINA 100 U/L (35 - 105)

GGT 76 U/L (Inf. 40) *

None of the test results are massively over the range, but you are getting early warnings that your liver is not as happy as it could be. The list of things that could go wrong with a liver is probably very long, but some things are far more common and more likely than others. (Please note - I am not a doctor.)

Do you have a diet that is high in carbohydrates, sugar, or alcohol? These could all lead to you having a fatty liver.

Other things that could cause liver results to be a bit off are gall bladder disease, blocked bile ducts, and pancreas problems. I have no idea how serious any of these are or can be.

For looking up blood test results for yourself, this website is helpful :

English version : labtestsonline.org.uk/

Spanish version : labtestsonline.es/

On any page giving details about a particular test, click on all the + signs you see for more information.

You should discuss your results with a doctor - don't ignore the out of range ones. But the solution to the out of range ones might be something like reducing your carb, sugar or alcohol intake, rather than anything dramatic.

hi! Thank you very much for your response! Yes, that's why I'm concerned...I don't eat sugars, grains, processed foods, gluten. I was on a really strict diet avoiding inflammatory foods. I even was avoiding nuts, seeds, eggs, Solanaceae and Cruciferae family foods. So I was basically eating healthy fats ( avocado mainly ), lean protein and some veggies. Obviously, no coffee, tea, and alcohol. That's why I'm so frustrated and I don't understand a thing.

Despite your healthy diet, something like gallbladder disease or blocked bile ducts would be quite common, and it can have effects on the liver.

Have you spent a substantial part of your life eating a low fat diet?

A theory I've read - it could be 100% nonsense...

The body uses bile to break down fat from the diet. If the diet contains very little fat then the bile ducts have very little to do and bile production can become faulty. And if bile ducts block up all then it can have a knock-on effect on the liver.

I don't know if the author has a good reputation or not. You'd have to do some research.

The irony is that a low fat diet can trigger problems with bile flow, bile ducts block up, and the treatment for this condition is ... a low fat diet.

Oh wow!....Well, that would be the joke of my life... Most of my life I've been dieting: low fat, sugar, low carb...XD I will definitely have a read ! Thanks!

If you've been eating a diet which is low fat AND low carb, it makes me wonder what you are actually eating.

There are only three macronutrients - fat, carbohydrate and protein. Everything we eat must be one of those. If your fat intake is low and your carbohydrate intake is low, then your diet must be quite unbalanced because you must be eating lots of protein. People can live quite happily without carbohydrates, but they can't live without fat.

Perhaps your problem is that your diet is just a bit too weird and you simply aren't eating enough? Sorry, I couldn't think of a more tactful way of phrasing that. :D
